Hi guys,

I have had this problem since I installed the new drivers 195.62. everytime i enable SLI settings through forceware control panel i get a BSOD the next time i restart. no matter what I do I get the BSOD, provided i enable SLI. I tried swapping PCIe slots with the GPUs. and if this happens I have to boot in safe mode and then sweep all the nvidia related driver files and then reinstall. also initially I don't get the SLI option in the forceware control panel and after couple of reboots sometimes for more than 10-20 times. I can't think of any other option or solution. also if i test each card i know i won't get the error so that option can be ruled out. if you guys have any other option that will be much appreciated. lastly i haven't tried formatting my PC yet and performing clean installation. also, please opine if I should be going back to vista for the time being.

BSOD 1
BSOD 2

thanks heaps in advance!!

Back off of your overclock until you are down to abotu 4GHZ. Try the 195.81 beta drivers on the NVIDIA website. See if your system is stable at the lower overclock. Once stable then slowly increase your overclock again.

I've been having the same problem for quite some time, now.  Runs great until I turn on SLI.  I get the same error for the same reason.  So Far, the EVGA techs haven't found a solution.  I'm running everything and stock speeds.  I've RMA'd the motherboard and one of the EVGA GTX 280 video cards.  Nothing helps.  Hundreds of dollars spent on techs trying to solve this problem.  Different drivers; Different timings; different voltages....nothing helps.
Is this problem unique to EVGA SLI motherboards, or have you seen others with this problem?

I had same problem this morning, I couldnt get into windows, after the windows logo instead of going to logon screen i get same BSOD you have telling me nvlddmkm.sys . This is getting rediculous i have 2 gtx285 SLI and I couldnt even get into windows this morning to see whats going on, I reset and restarted about 20 times and nothing same BSOD every time, I ended up going into safe mode and uninstalling all of nvidia crap, finally got into windows normal mode going to reinstall Windows 7 64 bit nvidia drivers all over again see how it goes. This is really pissing me off everything im running is stock speeds gpu's and my i7 920cpu, why is there a problem? Im not overlocked or anything!

I had this problem too and solved it.  I had 3 evga gtx 275 and would get the driver_irql_not_less_or_equal error pointing to nvlddmkm.sys only when I had sli enabled and it would happen on every boot up.  I'm not sure when this started but it seemed to be soon after an nvidia driver update.  I have an asus p6t motherboard and I had read somewhere that Realtek's lan driver might be problematic.  When I disabled the realtek lan in the bios I was able to boot windows 7 with sli enabled.  As soon as I updated the realtek lan driver from asus's website I was able to boot up with sli enabled and with lan enabled.
    Hope this helps

I had this same problem trying to run 280s in SLI on my 750i/C2Q. With stock settings and every driver I tried I kept encountering these issues+ random freezing/crashing/artifacting while gaming. So I blow a bunch of money upgrading to an x58 platform, and guess what, nothings changed. Its really a piss off

I have the same problem. Everytime I Sli enable, I will get BSOD, also same with the GPU-Z program.

here is my exp. I just found:

    1. Check older driver such as 190.xx and see if it runs properly if not

    2. Check your video cards if you have two or more. Check every single one of them by unplug the power (6 pins) and unplug the SLi bridge and switch around the HDMI/DVI into diff. ports on diff. cards. If the card is bad, it will show some sign such as black and white dots, screen flickering...dissolve color and maybe a BSOD during the POST and/OR after Starting windows logo disappeared. You may not able to boot into windows... Because I have two cards (GTX 285 Sli) and my second card has that problem...but the FTW is running just fine. I am waiting EVGA to RMA my second card ;(. I don't know why it happens. It ran just fine for many mons now. So far I am using driver 190.62 and so far so good but the EVGA Precision won't let me adj. the Shader clock and the Fans speed.

I guess there is a small bugs betwen EVGA Precision and Windows 7 and Nvidia. I am not try the newest driver yet but I will try now.

Hello all, this is my first time posting as well. Its nice to hear that I am not the only one running into this same problem!
    Running 2 GTX275s in SLI with an Ultra X4 1050W PSU, i7 920 2.66 OC to 3.2 with 12gb of OCZ Gold PC12800 1600MHZ on a X58 SLI LE Mobo, Win7 Professional 64bit.
Reinstalled Win7 three times now (plus "hundreds" of hours of wasted time and energy), and tried every Evga driver under the sun and am now running the before mention 186.18 with no issues other than BFBC2 and some other games get strange graphic distortions periodically, am shortly going to reinstall 197.13 and disable SLI each time before shutdown as I too have found no other way to by pass this issue!! Would love to hear any new ideas and of course if there is a permanent fix out there please let me/us know!

    What he said.
I had this problem when I updates my realtek lan drivers. Would BSOD on SLI or having an external HDD plugged in. Rolled it back and hid the update. haven't had a problem since.

If you are trying to install nic drivers via Windows update, don't. They have been found to cause a number of problems. Download and install latest from Realtek site.

Using the newest Realtek drivers did not work for me. However, right now I have SLI ENABLED and I did not recieve a BSOD at boot. I uninstalled both ethernet ports via Device manager in safe mode and that did it for me, the downside is I have no LAN ports now.

I just disabled both LAN ports in BIOS and was able to boot successfully with SLI enabled.  I'll try getting new drivers from Realtek to see if that fixes it.  Installed an old 3COM NIC and it's working so far.

Alright.  I downloaded fresh drivers from Realtek and forced Win 7 to use them.  I also downloaded a fresh copy of 197.45 from NVidia and installed after using driver sweeper to remove the old ones and restarting.  I was able to boot to windows without a blue screen, but now I have a different issue.  I am unable to select "Enable SLI" in NVidia control panel.  The SLI option isn't even present.  Normally it will say "Set Physx and SLI Configuration"  Now it only says "Set Physx Configuration".  Both cards are installed and detected by both windows and the NVidia System Infomation and EVGA Precision.  Ideas?

Update:  Disabled Realtek devices in BIOS.  Installed 3rd party NIC.  Rebooted.  Installed NIC drivers.  Rebooted.  SLI is back.   Ugh....what a crock.  Seems like NVidia and Realtek need to have a meeting.

No I can safely report that this happens on my ASUS P7P55D-E PRO motherboard, SLI works great if you remember to turn it off before shut down.
A reliable BSOD on windows startup, at that point my only fix is to go safe mode, uninstall the driver, restart, install the driver, restart, and enable SLI.
Running a pair of 9800 gtx+ cards, they work great together, if only they'd boot up.
Waiting for a fix. Lovely to know this happens on SLI "certified" boards besides my "compatible" board.

    Update:
I did a network work around...yes it works
    Shut down
I installed a legacy pci network card.
    Reboot
Switched connectivity to the alternative Card.
Disabled and uninstalled realtek onboard LAN device driver.
Restart, disable realtek onboard LAN in bios.
    Boot to windows, enable SLI
    Restart, VIOLA, no BSOD.

Waiting for a real driver fix, the ancient card gets by( salvaged from a 1999 box),  but I have no open modern PCI express slots to spare, and my bandwidth through the old card is only about 50 mbs

I'm having this issue again. I have 197.45 installed, and I reinstalled it ~20 times now, is that LAN issue the trick?
The other question, whenever I uninstall my GPU driver, Windows7 installs the new drivers on boot, how do I stop that feature? Is it the -- gpedit.msc ----> local group ----> Computer Configuration ----> Administrative Templates-> System ----> Device Installation ---> Prevent Installation of Devices, and prevent the installation of devices --- the only way to do it, since if I do that Windows won't let me install the driver manually as well, unless I revert back to the old settings.
