Hi all.  I am getting a BSOD that points to the nvidia drivers when I run my 2 gtx260's.  I can find no issue with the drivers but I did find a couple of posts about a conflict with the Realtek PCIe Family Controller drivers.  They say rolling back these will solve the BSOD issue.
My question is how and which one do I roll back.
1) I have a PCI bus 7, and a PCI bus 8 (labeled #2 in device manager), do I roll back both?
2) Do I just hit the "Roll Back Driver" button in Device Manager?

Thanks in advance and if you don't get a response right away its b/c I work 12 hour shifts with no internet access.  Have a great week.

try reinstalling the driver dont roll back..

but 1st snag you a copy of driver sweeper from 3dguru

then uninstall the nvidia vid drivers and all other related components from control panel and power off the rig.
double check the cards are seated properly and sli bridge is connected correctly.
    reboot into safe mode
run driver sweeper and clean all nvidia display and physx crap.
dont reboot yet. make sure the nvidia folder in C: drive is gone.
    now reboot. reinstall nvidia drivers
    reboot again

    now set sli settings etc.

test.  and see if you still have issues.  if you do post the specific bsod error you get.

First off thx for the response...and I did what you said to do tonight.  I uninstalled all nvidia from control panel,
     rebooted to safe mode,
     ran driver sweeper,
    made sure folder was gone,
    rebooted,
     installed drivers,
    rebooted and set sli.
I then rebooted for something else about 20 min later and got a BSOD again...here is the error message.  I am not sure what you need so here I go

    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    TECH info
    **STOP 0X000000D1 (0XFFFFF88007200000,0x000000000000000E, 0X00000000000000006, 0XFFFFF88010021B6E)
    ***nviddmkm.sys-ADDRESS FFFFF88010021B6E base at FFFFF8800FE 8A000 DateStamp 4bb7d7fd

I am not sure what this means, you got any ideas?  My next step is to sell the second gtx260

    1) yes.
    2) yes.

Also hide the 'updated' Realtek drivers in Windows Update.  When I had this problem, I did everything from safe mode, but I don't know if this matters.

I got the same stop code (D1) on boot no matter what I did with Nvidia drivers until I rolled back the Realtek drivers.

I haven't done anything else with the Nvidia drivers since I rolled back the Realtek drivers and have had zero issues or BSODs.  I'm using 197.45.

I noticed no performance or stability problems with or differences between the two Realtek drivers.

What Driver did you go to?  I rolled back to 7.2.1127.2008 but it wont go back any more.  The "Roll Back Driver" button in Device Manager is grayed out.

the nevidia driver is crashing but not sure why,

the reason the rollback button is greyed out is cause you are now using the earliest realtek drivers installed.

try this, dl a copy of who crashed from here http://www.resplendence.com/downloads and run it. it will give a report analysys of your bsod.
pick up a copy of memtest and run that as well to eliminate any ram issues.

also try disabling realtek in the bios and see if it still crashes. if it does then swap the vid cards around and keep the top card out for now and test the secondary card only. if no issues then put the 1st card back in and test again.  if your cards are overclocked roll them back to stock speeds. also you didnt say what nvidia driver you are running, if you reinstalled the same driver try installing a different vid driver to see if that eliminates the problem.

did you try running 1 card at a time? (like remove 1, then swap)
see if it does it again.
i had a bad card myself.
    just a thought..

Update...since rolling back the drivers on the realtek I have had no BSODs.  I dont want to jinx it but it looks like that was the trick.  Thanks.

LJennings...After I would get the BSOD a few times I would take 1 card out until I got sick of looking at it.  I would then install in hopes of the comp fixing itself.
    Thanks everyone!
