Yes I m with you to all that you say.im thinking to sell my kpe and take another kpe.or I keep it and order one more to check if the second card oc better than this I have. Im so confused with this card.the only good is that im rock stable at 1400 to all game.but is rwally strange this too I cant understand how this could be happend to be stable at 1400 only 1.21v and everything above to this core clock to dont work no matter what voltage I give. Maybe something is wrong with the classy tool or the bios I dont know

Because you need to "Make It Colder".  1400 on air cooling ain't no slouch.

i m on water mate.And maximum temp i take is 52c

Would one you guys mind running Valley with your overclock, and then posting a screen shot of Precision's Hardware Monitor please? I'd like to see if I was having an issue with my particular card, or if Valley throttles for everyone. Be sure to enable GPU Clock, Voltage, and all the limits please.

Some benchmarks are just difficult to work with.

I had overclocks that are stable at 3dmark, firestrike, all my games, hell it folded for two days straight.

but then it touches valley

and it decides to lower my clocks because of valley.

I dislike valley hard.

Well I'm not much of an overclocker but she managed to get me a 3DMark Hall of Fame Score x1 GPU
Made the top 100 and I'm sure with the +25mv switches she could go more

I was correct in my previous post
Flipped the second +25mV switch and pushed 1300 MHz Core Clock with 7800MHz Memory Clock

Good enough for 65th in FireStrike Hall of Fame x1 GPU

I might be able to straight up swap my classified with a kingpin. wonder if I should do it.

I know I should put her on water but I have no idea where to put a rad in my case.

Pffff Good luck flying to belgium :D

I have been looking at my case and I literally cant think up a place where to put a Rad. I already have the H100 Rad sitting ontop of the case. the side is taken by a huge fan blowing fresh air into the case. so no go there.

As it will have to be a custom loop,  run it out the back and use QD3 quick connects to pop it in and out,  then just mount it on a small platform or something.   It won't have an effect of making the case temps higher and it will work.

some guys here are really complaining about 1400mhz overclocks only lol!
my classy does 1300 mhz @ 1.27 volt and is hitting mid 80´s c
@1.21v it gets unstable above 1220
memory is hynix and gets unstable @7.600mhz without touching ram voltage

and for now i´m fine with that.unlike some people who rma their card because it does oc bad

I'm happy with my KPE overall
Low temps on acx
I know I can clock it higher
No coil whine or any noise at all
+300 Core and +400 Mem is more than I expected on ACX
Also I wasn't looking to build a budget PC, I was looking to build a sweet sled with the best components, so this card may not be for you if the retention of disposable income is your priority

It is a pretty well known fact that you need to flash a bios to avoid the throttling on any of these cards.  it takes one second to do and with the dual bios switch there really is no threat of bricking the card.  Kingpin released the XOC bios days before the card even released.  That bios is basically unlimited.  I have taken my Kingpin up to 1.6v at 1515core in valley under water and never even came close to throttling.  I was using about 50% of the bios's power headroom.  That is crazy that you sold your cards because of throttling that can be fixed in 1 second.  This is something we all need to live with and understand.  Thank god we can accomplish this by just flashing a bios and not having to hard mod the card to reduce the power reading.  Anyone purchasing this card has to know that you are going to have to flash a bios to get the full performance and it was released before the card even released on kingpins website with instructions.  It kills me that you returned your cards because of this never knowing there full potential and if you had golden ones or not.  Every single nvidia card out today will throttle at some point without flashing a bios.  Overvolting increases the amount of power used by obscene amounts and you will hit the power ceiling fast.  It is almost pointless to buy these cards and not flash the XOC bios.  EVGA has made it very easy for us to bypass this limit.

Yeah, I'm kind of kicking myself in the butt for selling it so fast, but after being so horribly disappointed  with it initially, I didn't want to miss the window to be able to sell it without losing any money, and felt that I needed to hurry up and sell it while the demand was still very high. In the end, even that plan didn't work out because I sold it on eBay for $975, and after all the crazy eBay and Paypal fees, I still ended up only netting $820, but that's another story.

Up until two days ago when I received the regular 780 Ti Classified, I have never flashed a gpu bios before, and had no clue that the modded BIOS's made such a huge improvement. I actually posted about my initial disappointment with the KPE over on the ocn forum, and explained about the throttling and such, and the only answer I got from people was to go on LN2, which is not an option. It wasn't until I really started reading through the 800+ pages in the Official 780 Classified thread that I started to understand what the modded BIOS was all about, and the impact using one can make.

Fast forward to today, and I now have my regular Classified running at near 1500MHz with even more room to go, and I owe it all to the modded BIOS from skyn3t. The crazy thing is, even though I am ecstatic about this Classified card, and the clocks I'm running, I just can't stop thinking about what I might have been able to get with the KPE on water, which I never tried in fear of decreasing the value of it for resale.

Anyway, all of this has been one massive lesson, and I am definitely going to get another K|NGP|N when they come back in stock, and give it another go except this time it will be with a modded BIOS and water.

There you are sir

Many thanks! :)
Just received my two KPEs today :)

I have found a yellow note in the packaging saying:
"Thank you for your purchase of the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition. For those planning to use aftermarket cooling, we have included a non-conductive film for you to apply on your heatsink. This will help to prevent any possible shorting.
If you are not planning on using aftermarket cooling, you do not need to use this film."

Actually I want to set them on water, before setting them on fire :), but unfortunately I was not able to find any non-conductive films in none of the boxes of the two KPEs of mine :(. Was such film included in yours?

I was correct in my previous post
Flipped the second +25mV switch and pushed 1300 MHz Core Clock with 7800MHz Memory Clock
http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1669130
Good enough for 65th in FireStrike Hall of Fame x1 GPU

This thing is stupid fast and cool, I didn't even hit 60 degrees on that run
Anyone wondering about ASIC (60.1%) for what it's worth

I am sorry bro.

Number 46  but mostly because of my CPU.

uck I need watercooling so baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

My classified was running at 1358mhz(+200) and 4166mhz(+670) mem

I am getting benchblocked by heat.

I know.

It's pretty sad that temperatures are screwing me over since my GPU seems to keep on going Tried running 1458. worked fine until temperatures happened. I am quite impressed with my classy.

Just wondering if I should drop the memory overclock so I have more headroom for a core overclock in terms of temperatures.

For me it's the other way around anything over 1300MHz with the updated BIOS is impossible
But the temps don't get out of the 50s
I'm still very happy, didn't expect the GPU to be this competitive on air in the first place

For me it's the other way around anything over 1300MHz with the updated BIOS is impossible
But the temps don't get out of the 50s
I'm still very happy, didn't expect the GPU to be this competitive on air in the first place

Wait. what speeds are you running?

how can you beat me if you cant seem to get over 1300mhz.

and its weird that you cant do that. okay I am nearing 1,4 volts to do it but still. kingpin should be able to break the 1300mhz mark easily. vince said that every kingpin should overclock over 1300mhz on 1,21V(if I remember right)

tried 1.2175-1.31 V
I'm sort of afraid to push 1.4 lol
Also I have no idea what I'm doing

and there are 3-4 bios(s) i could use
normal, ln2, evga updated ln2 or xoc from kingpincooling

Apparently XOC is the best from what I have heard.

and don't worry about 1,4 volts.

This is a overclocking card. the MOST focussed overclocking card with specially amped up power parts.

vince fricking had 1,9 volts pumping through it without it being damaged.

I have been folding for 4 days at 1,35 volts with no problem. and I got a normal classified.

this thing is MADE for overvolting.

Ok well I'll admit I've been a bit afraid of 1.4 however if I load the XOC, I'll give 1.35 a shot then 1.4.

Why you gotta be a jerk for though
lol

Yea 3960x plus higher clocks all around
Nice!

Hey, I want to play!! LOL. If only I had more cores in my cpu. You guys are killing me on physics scores!!

With my graphics score, if I had you guys' physics scores I'd be somewhere in the 20's. This stuff is so much fun, lol.

The highest I've gone is +300 Core and +400 Mem Clock
But at actually stock voltage haha.
n00bery in the house
Nice clocks btw
I impressed myself with my first build in a decade, but I'm getting steamrolled when people get serious
