I think you guys are over thinking this, as I said I couldn't exceed 1100W from the wall for my entire rig from my CPU at 1.3V, dual KPEs at 1.45V core and the rest all maxed out. I will consider the extensions though, anyone who makes the same color as the corsair red and/or white sleeved cables?

I don't see how you're not using more power than that. Like I said, just my single non-KPE Classified is pulling over 500W just by itself. The meter was bouncing between 825W and 885W during FireStrike. Add a second gpu, and I'd be in the 1300-1400W range.

That doesn't seem right? A single 1200w would be more than enough for Tri-SLI.

It is, but not at the overclocking level we are talking about. Unless you only plan on running your card at stock or with a tiny overclock, then you're going to get into some serious power. I'm not making up numbers here. I have a Ryobi wattage meter that I'm using to measure the power coming from the wall, so this is real world numbers.

Taking a look at your signature, is it safe to assume you are going to be running your KPE on air?? If so, you have nothing to worry about. On air you won't be getting into the type of power I'm talking about before heat becomes a factor. I literally doubled the amount of power being pulled by the gpu when I went from my max overclock on air to my max overclock on water.

Sorry I wasn't trying to call you out or say you're lying. That's just a lot of watts for your system lol!

As for the Kingpin.. screw it I'm going to find the cheapest Classified and pull the trigger. I'll save some money, end up with an awesome card, and I'll have just enough to order my Mercury S5 as well.

EDIT: Damn, I didn't realize that was out of stock at Evga's store too. Anyone recall what their price was so I can use that as a reference while I search other stores?

Absolutely no worries my friend, no offense taken. Yes, it is a lot of watts which is why I was telling you guys about it. Do keep in mind that these Classified cards are designed for major power delivery, so they are capable of much higher than normal power usage over regular reference models, and especially the Kingpin. That card is a beast.

As far as Classified vs Kingpin, you may want to take a look at a thread I started a couple weeks ago. My regular Classifed outperformed my Kingpin on air. On water, I'm sure it would be a different story, but on air, you are fine with either card.

I saw on overclock.net 812W from wall with high overclocked KP Classified, I didn't saw CPU model.
Can't be SLI,  that was one card... I would leave 812W at least on 850W PSU, nothing less.

That was 812W from the wall on a 80+ gold PSU so actual PSU usage was around 700W or so. It was also an extreme case with both CPU and the single GPU around 1.5V.

My usage is from 2 separate KAWs as well as Corsair Link. I haven't had any PSU shutdowns either so I still think 1200W is plenty enough unless on LN2 and extreme voltages.

Myst3ri0n,

DO you have any internal LED lighting in your case? If so, how does the KPE look when the interior is lit up? Does it make it stand out/glow (smoked see through plastic and all)

I don't have any dedicated LED's or lightbars
The Asus Rampage IV Gene Lights up the case red from the Soundblaster "Tron" lines
Also the Status LEDS with the 2 Digital Digits light up red, along with the start/reset/go buttons
The KPE lights are bright as hell, white
The Corsair Dominators have white light bars as well but very subtle

I kinda want to put tape over the KPE lights, however, I don't really care to add a tape mess to a card that can hit 82 degrees very quickly with enough voltage, the backplate draws a lot of heat

Led's are bright cuz u need to be able to monitor if the cards are dropping voltages through all the ln2 smoke :). In 4 way LN2, its almost impossible to see anything in that area when benching hard at times.

I want to thanks to K|NGP|N and TIN for so nice version of GTX780Ti...
It's satisfaction when customer pay something like this and I never had such nice graphic card model...
Worth every cent for any purpose.
Thanks to enthusiast who make these excellent models NVIDIA sell me 2 GK110 not one...
I would not leave GTX780 Classified for reference Ti only.

To be honest, I'm not bothered by the white LEDs as they I knew they were functional from the get-go but also I'll let you know another reason why they don't bother me much...

Because this thing absolutely crushes anything I throw at it (on ACX)

My friends, coworkers (namely the boss) and family get all hot and bothered when I show them the frame-rates and benchmark scores I'm getting off a single GPU setup
I've got people trying to upgrade their rigs because of my K|NGP|N

BF4 Ultra 130-175 Fps 1080P
BF3 Ultra 150-199 Fps 1080P I think there's a cap there lol
Titanfall Beta 60 Fps locked to refresh rate, need a new monitor prob 1440P G-sync on the books soon

So happy with this card, I wish I bought 2 and knew how to do custom watercooling without getting it all wet haha

Best $849 USD I've ever spent.

Me too, nobody can't show me scores any more in my country. And I still didn't overclock...
They ask once I show them and no comments any more...
ASUS ROG fans who can't live without their badges say this is best single card on the world without doubt.
All normal people tell me I'm rear customer in Serbia who buy only what really like and no compromise for my money.
If something worth to me, who is someone else to try on every way to explain me to save money on GTX780 or on reference cards...
This cards overclocked under water I think can beat small reference GTX770 SLI on fabric clocks, single card... Do you know what that mean... That chip is used as high end before 12 months... I'm still so happy when I remember upgrade from GTX780...
Still one part of me don't believe inside is full GK110 now.
When I remember how I thought to delay order and buy normal GTX780Ti Classified, @@@@@@ I'm really not normal sometimes and react as idiot... Imagine now people pay 800$ for R9-290X... Heey... I would kill myself to pay that near this cards...
And I do that several years before I decide I to buy only exactly what I like most of all.
What is 100$ more or 100e compare to personal satisfaction every morning next 12 months or 24 or how long you have cards.

I hope EVGA, Kingpin and TIN will make same from Maxwell architecture at the end...
We will be ready on time and wait that, GTX580 Classified can't happen again and missing such card.

A 880 classified kingpin would be nice. I missed out on it this time and since I cant seem to sell my classified I am just going to keep it.

A tri SLI 880 classified kingpin with a 8 core I7 5960X on water would be such a beast.

Hell I wouldn't even mind LN2 too much but that wont happen since the cost of that stuff is too much too handle without having some form of sponsorship.

water it shall be.

You are fine, GTX780Ti Classified is excellent card, but you probably didn't wish Kingpin so badly as me.
If people sell GTX780Ti Classified for 650$ I would give for 610-620$ and that price nobody can't resist, example...
Because at the end 650-620$= difference between me and Kingpin Classified and that is to small for my happiness.
I expect GTX9xx series, if they keep same name to become Kingpin Edition II...
First Maxwell is just to introduce yourself than when refresh arrive they can launch successor of GTX780Ti KP Classified...
In my case 5930k will replace 3770K.

That's a bold statement. From the day the Kingpin was announced, I started camping the EVGA store, lol. Just sucks that I think I got a bum card this time.

You are fine, GTX780Ti Classified is excellent card, but you probably didn't wish Kingpin so badly as me.

That's a bold statement. From the day the Kingpin was announced, I started camping the EVGA store, lol. Just sucks that I think I got a bum card this time.

I know, I know, I would cry probably... My blood pressure hit 500 probably when only think to order something else than KP Classified. But everything depend of him... I sell mine GTX780 Classified for 450e in Serbia where you can't buy such card under
600e... GIGABYTE reference GTX780 was 520e in shop but I did everything to find sample for me... I could say I will not sell mine cards under 500e or 520e because that was real worth price consider taxes in Serbian shops after 01 January 2014 when everything go up 20%... I could say I will sell 20e under Caseking, that's 500e, you don't need to pay shipping, custom taxes, ... but I would still sell card and look others how enjoy in KP Classified, I drop price and card was sold.  Worth 50e more but what now, take or leave...
I only say cards are similar performance and depend from BIOS and silicon what will be better under Air. But for my opinion nothing can replace unique of KP Edition, look this hysteria over net... I would love to all of them get but I'm calm now and feel nice when I know I provide card for self.

Okay, I'm going to have to say that I'm honestly impressed by this card. I just started overclocking today, and with 1.28V (which is 15mV BELOW default voltage) I'm 100% stable at 1266MHz on the core and 7800MHz on the memory. When I say "default" voltage I mean with the way the card ships from EVGA, which is with a single voltage boost switch set to the ON position, and no other voltage tweaking.

I just hope they are still putting higher binned chips on the regular Classified too. I'll see when mine ships, I guess lol.

I have both, my 2 kingpins are 1241mhz stable and only +100 offset on memory with stock voltage.. My 2 ti classys do 1280mhz and +200 offset at 1.212v, but they do 1320mhz stable and +500 memory offset 8000mhz effective at 1.25v game and firestrike stable.. I still have to get them underwater though, in the process of building my loop..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think regular Classified chips were ever binned.

Okay, we have a bit to discuss and clarify here.

First and foremost, when I quoted 1.28V that was taken with a multimeter, not what Precision or GPU-Z reported. If you go by what Precision reports, then my 1.28V would be 1.187V, which is wrong. The importance of a good digital multimeter (DMM) has never been more apparent to me than now due to the amounts of power these cards use, and also the major inaccuracy of the sensors on these cards. So, to reiterate, comparing any voltage without taking the reading with a DMM is not accurate, and it's safe to assume that whatever you are seeing in Precision, GPU-Z, or any other software program is a LOT lower than the voltage you are *actually* using. In the case of my Kingpin, the difference is 1.0V+. Precision was reporting 1.187V and my actual voltage was 1.28V.

So assuming you said 1.212V because that's what you set in Precision, your actual voltage could have been anywhere from 1.25 to 1.3V actual, and the 1.25V you quoted for the 1320MHz was probably in the neighborhood of 1.325 to 1.35V.

Next, the memory. Your Classifieds use Hynix memory, and the Kingpin uses Samsung memory. In addition to the brand memory being different, the Classifieds' memory has looser timings than the Kingpin's Samsung which is why they overclock higher. The thing is, a mildly overclocked Hynix produces the same performance as a non-overclocked Samsung due to the difference in timings. Now, Vince (K|NGP|N) has released an optional BIOS for the Kingpin with looser timings for those that just feel better by having their memory overclock higher. He has stated that it won't produce any more performance but did it purely to stop the crying.

Now, I have also owned regular Classifieds and the highest I could get my last one was 1437MHz stable in Firestrike, and with +600 offset on the memory but it required a massive amount of voltage, 1.58V to be exact, which brings me to my next point.

I started a thread a week or two ago comparing the Classified and the Kingpin clock for clock, and even though they were *almost* identical in every run, the Classified's scores were actually higher in every single benchmark, again clock for clock, but that was with both cards using their stock heatsinks. You see, you can't really compare these cards on air because they will, for all relative purposes, be exactly the same. The difference doesn't start to expose itself until you start pumping up the clocks, and of course the voltage. After my testing, the higher I went with the regular Classified the less efficient it became vs. the Kingpin which seems to just LOVE higher clocks and voltage. I'm not done testing this Kingpin on water, but so far it is maintaining it's efficiency for a much longer duration than the regular Classified.

So you see, it's not just the fact that one card can clock higher than the other, it's the fact that the Kingpin can *usually* do the same clock with less voltage, and in my case, with a LOT less voltage. That being said, in general, most are finding that the Kingpin can overclock much higher as well.

Get those cards on water, and get yourself a good digital multimeter, and then you'll be ready to see some crazy numbers.

Almost forgot. A note on benchmark stability. For some reason, I am finding Valley to be much more stressful to my cards than Firestrike. I can run Firestrike almost an entire 100MHz higher than I can Valley. For example, at stock volts, I can run Firestrike at 1340MHz all day long, but if I switch to Valley, it crashes almost instantly. Just wanted to mention this for when you're doing your testing.

I totally understand that they are not displayed correctly with the Kingpin.. I was not refering to that..  I was just stating my voltages and clocks.. I do not have a DMM so I have been reading on what the actualy voltages are with the kingpin when using a DMM.. Basically same as your readings...  The 780 ti classys when set to 1.212v in precision with modified bios and or 1.212v with the classy tool, or evbot,  is 1.212v correct?  Or does it actually read higher then 1.212v on the DMM? I have to pick one up.. But I think that the 1.212v is the correct reading for the ti classys,  because there are no voltage switches on the card like the kingpin... So if that is correct and the voltages are not higher on the ti classy, then the kingpin is being supplied more volts stock the way it comes from evga, with 1 switch off.. And you would think the kings would do a lot better because of the higher voltage then the ti classys.. I think underwater my ti classys are going to do better then my kings..  I have to get this loop together.. LOL.... Because on air you really cannot judge the 2 cards..

Yea I noticed when you flip the second mV switch PrecisionX reports 1.187 which is totally false
GPUZ also reports 1187
I know it's not at 1187mV so yea when I'm getting 1293MHz and running Firestrike with the memory at 7800MHz it's probably around 1.3V+

I'm really surprised though about the low gaming temps
Just played through the first mission in BF4 on Ultra at 1080P getting 130-175 FPS and the card barely reached 60 degrees with the normal BIOS from the factory
I think it boosts to 1189MHz or 1202MHz on it's own
It's really nice I am blown away every day by this card, but the last GPU I had was a GT 640M LE so, it's not hard to blow that out of the water with my current setup

That makes sense. Both my 780 SC and 780 DCUII would be stable at higher clocks in Firestrike. As soon as I did Valley, they'd fail.

As for the Ti Classified, I'm pretty sure they are binned. There are a few reviews that have shown the regular SC clocking higher, but the rest show the Classified as the highest OC.
