Hi guys, I ordered my EVGA GTX1080 SC two months ago on newegg. Today when I was playing dota2, the screen became blank(dark) suddenly , but I can still hear the audio from the pc. I restarted the pc and reinstalled the driver, when I got back to the game, this problem happened again after 10 minutes. I've run the 3DMark 11 to check the video card, it works properly. I don't know what the problem is, could anyone give me some advice? Shall I contact customer service for maintenance? Any help would be appreciated!! My hardware is 4590+8G+1TB+1080+500W

Did your gpu fan spin up to max speed when the screen went blank?

arestavo Try step 2 and then download and install the Nvidia driver version 368.81 (it has helped some others with a similar black screen issue): http://forums.evga.com/Basic-troubleshooting-steps-Windows-clean-boot-clean-driver-install-debug-mode-etc-m2504606.aspx
This has nothing to do with the drivers. People who have tried an older driver still had the same issues.
And for a couple of people it helped.
Stop being such a Debbie downer and let people assist without your peanut galley whinging.
I agree with you for a couple of people that did help them out but what you're forgetting is that it only helped them out for the short-term. After some extensive gaming they came across the same issue black screen and fan spinning up. So no Debbie Downer here just factual Frank. :-)

My best guess - heat related crashing - thermal expansion Has anyone with this issue -- pulled their cooler and checked the thermal pads & TIM ? 10X loop and inspect the solder joints ?

If I read your specs correctly in post number 1 you are using a 500 watt PSU which is bare minimum for this card/system. Do you have access to a slightly higher wattage PSU to try?

What is the make/model/age of your power supply? Have you tried re-seating the card to the motherboard? Have you tried using a different pci-e power cable to power the card?

You don't have FTW, but perhaps the same faulty component made it in to your card's batch. Call up EVGA's tech support and see: http://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

The power supply are at 500w ! What is the brand of your power supply ? Better check the +12V current max that probably to low for your card. The GTX 1080 need min. 20A.
