So after downloading and installing v6.1.0 with my new card a couple of days ago, today the card no longer downclocks when out of 3d application. I've searched but not found any suggestions......has anyone heard of this bug before? While poking around I noticed that 4 of the LED custom colors I created and saved are gone. Thanks EDIT: seemed to be caused by firefox browser, multiple restarts seemed to fix it, then i disabled hardware accel in browser and the issue has not returned

What Graphics Card do you have? If you still are using 3x EVGA GeForce GTX 580 3072MB then you downloaded the wrong Version I use EVGA PrecisionX 16 Version 5.3.11 for GTX 980 and below Graphics Cards EVGA Precision XOC Version 6.0.9 for the ACX Version for the Older GTX 10xx Graphics Cards The New EVGA Precision XOC Version 6.1.0 (iCX) are for the Newest GTX 10xx Graphics Cards. Download Links Download Standalone Version (ACX) Older Cards Download Standalone Version (iCX) Newer Cards Are you still on Win 7 64-bit? What Graphics Driver Version are you running?

You don't Fold anymore (well at lest for the last 12 months) so why are you on such an old driver? Did you remove all the OLD Precision X software and delete the EVGA Folders and any EVGA Keyes in the Registry?

I'm using the 376.33 because it seems to work fine and I thought there were problems with the new one...I'll look into it. History on the pc: New build, was using a gtx970sc with afterburner and riva tuner. got the 1080 ftw2 card on Wed., used the uninstaller for msi afterburner and riva tuner, restarted, downloaded and installed XOC....I don't know anything about keys or register...i'll have to look into that..but never used prec on this pc before now . I did set pwr mangt mode to adaptive same.....idles at 1721 and boosts to 2025 in game at times. was downclocking fine before. I haven't folded in a long time. Thank you guys for the help :) I updated my sig

I checked GPU-Z...and it looks like it's reporting 1721 so not down clocked with XOC closed Guess I'll try uninstall and reinstall xoc and then drivers for nvidia

Okay this is weird..I did a restart because I was gonna reinstall nvidia driver and when it came back up it was downclocked...this is not the first restart i tried in fact it's at least the third restart but now it downclocks. Another thing...when i opened mozilla firefox the clock went to 1721, and i thought oh it's the browser all of a sudden, but then it downclocks. but i opened and closed firefox a few times and it jumps up to 1721 and downclocks a few seconds later...i'm going to look into browser options to see if there is a hardware acceleration thing messing with me. EDIT: appears it may have been caused by firefox hardware acceleration (i disabled the option now)...strange as nothing changed on the system, updates, settings, etc etc, it just started doing this...but all seems well now...bedtime for bonzo

Browser hardware acceleration - yep it can be an issue Also, just to confirm - after you set pwr mangt mode to adaptive --> did you reboot and still have the issue ?

I honeslty think pwr mangt mode adaptive didn't have anything to do with it because it "fixed itself" before i did anything. It fixed itself on about the 3rd restart at which time it booted up and clocked at 253, i opened to the browser to report the change here and clock jumped to 1721 for a second or two then dropped back down...that's when I had an 'a-ha' moment realizing that the browser might have something to do with it. At that time i selected no hardware acc on the browser. I currently have on nvidia 'prefer max performance' Ultimately, it may be from the risidual stuff from msi afterburner and riva tuner because all i have done is use their respective uninstallers. ....i'm still researching how to fully clean their components...but all seems to be working well again.
