Looks like it finishes just before Robbies project of the month.
Also it seems like a 2p-4p dream project. (10 days of carpet bombing)
Running some now on sandy i-7 @ 4.0Ghz and they take 100-110 minutes for about 545 credit.

I couldn't make a chart if I wanted to!!!  My "all the other rigs" are only 2> i7 875k and a i7 870 but being "worked" on ATM.

Bill, is that with HT on or off. Also if you can give the number of threads please.
A system maybe slower per Wu, but if you're dropping 48 at a time, that can make up for it.
    Thanks.

And how much of an overclock are you running? A few hundred hurtz can mean a lot in PPD.

I like to leave one Core Per CPU Free and on my rigs that Fold I leave one Thread Per GPU Free.
OC to 4300-4400MHz for the most part. This tasks seems to like Fast CPU Speeds.
I cannot OC my T630 (E5-2680v4) but the CPUs do run at 2899MHz or 2.88GHz

As far as I know, HT is bad for parallel processing, which is what finding (most) prime numbers is (are?).  I haven't had time to look into how the calculations are done with each app on PG but there are some that specify you should have HT off.  It also seems to affect windows more than linux environments as well, so maybe test on a linux machine (unless that is one).

I would say keep it on since you can do 2x more WUs in less that 2x the time.
HT off for LLR,  HT on for Sieve
On the last day you may want to turn it off if you can squeeze in another round in that shorter time frame

sooo...that means I should turn off HT for the cores that will be ddoing the Newton challenge coming up correct?

You should Keep HT Enabled (On) for Sieve Projects and Disabled (Off) for LLR Projects.

End Testing running all Cores and All Threads. Also set the lowest MHz to 4300.
No change when running all but this stops me from using the GPU.
But for testing it is nice to know what we can expect of our hardware.
Good thing the tasks run short, doing this with tasks that take over a few hours is really hard to test out.

End Testing running all Cores and All Threads. Also set the lowest MHz to 4300.

Yes agreed, good info bcav, looks like no advantage to HT off.  (Vote for bcav)

wizanhi, I have 2 2600k's and tested Linux mint against Win7 and found no advantage for Linux on these work units. I have noticed better performance on  WCG for one and will continue testing on other projects when time permits.

I wish good/smooth runnings for all on this rather long 10 day event. It's a marathon not a sprint.

I'll be there with my intels - no 2 or 4p for me
