Hello All,
I've been trying to upgrade my Lenovo K430 from a GTX 660-2gbs (not stock) to a GTX 1070-8gbs. The system operates fine, I just want to upgrade my performance.
Current specs:
Win 7 64 bit pro
24 GBs ram
Intel i7 3770
CIZ75M Motherboard (stock lenovo)
Thermaltake Smart 650w PSU

When I put in the new gpu, the screen shows the Lenovo title screen and the gpu fans spin for a second, and then it stops. The system then has 3 spaced out beeps and the screen goes black. The Hard drive will spin up for a split second then the bootup never begins.

PS. I have narrowed it down to a BIOS/MOBO issue. Lenovo hasn't supported this platform since 2012 and states that it is unflashable (Lenovo Says). Would upgrading to WIN8.1/WIN10 fix this problem or is the GPU too new for my out-of-date (4yrs old) system.
Please Help..........I trying to build a better gamer for my boys.

Hellos tacticsmaximus, and welcome to the forums! Unfortunately it's possible the card is not compatible with that system; from what you've stated, it sounds like this is most likely the case. The 3 beeps generally indicate a problem initializing the graphics card. Changing the operating system probably won't help, as the problem is with the BIOS. Your 660 is most likely the newest card that would work, as all 700 series and newer cards use the newer UEFI firmware.

Best card for your system at this time would be an R9 290x from msi that includes a hybrid bios switch that will allow your card to switch from uefi vbios to legacy vbios. Using the legacy vbios should allow the card to work in your system without any issues.

Your only hope would be to Clear the CMOS and then hope the MB will initiate the GPU.

Clearing CMOS will force the MB to re-look for hardware installed; it still may not work as compatibility issue could be root cause.

If you can not clear CMOS, enter BIOS, record your settings, load default settings, save, shut down/ stop reboot, install new GPU, reboot, enter BIOS make your edits

Always unplug PSU, wait till capacitors drain - before adding or removing anything from MB - best to ground yourself, prevent static discharge damage - touch case first at a minimum

    Hello tacticsmaximus
I have K430 too and I want to new graphics cards tooo
and I want to you to check  several things of your PC.
    1,serch  msinfo32
check your Bios mode UEFI or legacy
check your secure boot mode  yes or non

if legacy mode you cant use 1060 now you should change from legacy to UEFI

you need to recover your hdd or ssd then you should delete all files on your hdd or ssd

    then change bios UEFI
then you install OS to vacant drive by UEFI mode
    then you may use 1060
