As the title says I have the X79 Classified trying to install the Chipset 10.1.1.14 just to see if there is anything newer with the previous version and I always get an unknown error message for some reason when I try to install it.
Has anyone else by chance had this issue?

What is the Error and what is showing in the Event logs Files?
Are you running as the Admin?
Have you Disabled your Virus Software?

It says Failure, Unknown error
Yes I'm running it as an Admin.
I did try with anti virus off and I got the same result.

Interesting.  I tried both of the links that you posted and they both still failed the first one just instantly failed when I used the program to find the correct chipset.
I just got the 2nd from latest one from the EVGA list and that one worked.  The newer installer is a bit different.
Should I post both of the logs from the installer? As I only posted one beforehand as the second one is a bit longer.

Mine is a 2nd gen i7 processor and if it isn't then they must have made a mistake by placing it in the bios/drivers area.
I only check from time to time to see if there is anything new and this caught my eye since it was released in February.
I could be wrong though since everyone does make mistakes.

This is not a processor update it is a Chipset update.
The Chipsets that are on the X79 and X99 are Server Chipsets not Desktop Chipsets.
10.1.1.14 are only for Desktops and Laptops for the most part that is. See Post #6 Above.
10.0.27/10.1.2.10 are for Servers so to speak. Intel® C600 Series Chipset/Intel® X79 Express Chipset

I will fire up my X79 Classified Rig and see what happens. Tested.
That is what I thought this driver is NOT for the X79 Motherboards.

I did PM Jacob about this Chipset Driver driver file for the X79 and also is the wrong driver for the X99 Motherboards.

This Drive will work
5-07-2015 Chipset Driver 10.0.0.27 151-SE-E779 Windows 8/8.1 64bit Download Same File for all X64 versions.

This driver will also work on the X99 Motherboards.
8-03-2015 Chipset Driver 10.0.27 151-HE-E999 Windows 8/8.1 64bit Download Same File for all X64 versions.

It is the same file for both the X99 and X79 Windows X64

I did find this version 10.1.2.10 for the X79 and X99 Motherboards running Windows 7.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25731/Intel-Server-Chipset-Driver-for-Windows-
Intel_chipset_10.1.2.10.zip

Installed on my X99 Classified, X79 Dark, and X79 Classified Motherboards with no issues.

Yeah I know it's not for the processor I was just stating that what I had was 2nd gen as it did say it support that generation of processor.  I'll try out the link you posted and see how that fares with my system.

the 10.0.27 one actually worked.  I almost had a bad feeling as the others would have the installation status bar almost full and then after about a minute would said it failed.
That one actually worked for me as I do have Windows 8.1.

I would go with this version now: 10.1.2.10
I did find this version 10.1.2.10 for the X79 and X99 Motherboards running Windows Any Version.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25731/Intel-Server-Chipset-Driver-for-Windows-

Although I would like to see a new Chipset version for the X79 and X99 Motherboards.
