I guess the ftw doesn't have this issue :(

Yes it does! I have the FTW and I'm having the exact same issue as you!

What driver version and OS are you guys running?

I'm on the 355.82 bios and Windows 8.1.  I don't think the OS would have much to do with it, but....could the drivers?  The last two driver versions are hot garbage for Firestrike.

That is with everything stock.  I don't know what my maximum OC is yet, haven't pushed them that far since there is no game that needs that much.  But I was able to get them up to 1550 MHz and I when I game, they are at 1525 MHz.

At stock clocks and voltages my ftw has an asic of 85.4.  It boosts to 1455.  I'm trying to get pics uploaded but its not working for me.  I will post them soon.

My Asic is 67,2 and at the same time the card works at 1296 MHz of GPU (1447 with Boost) and at 1875 mhz memory.
I dont tried to overclock more.

But there is a problem with the card, it is - coil whine noise. This may be due to a low Asic?

Anyone else been getting occasional artifacting with the GTX 970 SC (04G-P4-2974-KR)? Have been seeing a bit more of it when playing GTA Online lately...

My temps are fine; nothing unusual there--but typically artifacting is a sign of a dying card, so am getting a bit worried (almost brand new card BTW...)

I have the ftw model with no issues.  I don't play GTA though so cant really compare.

Rather late to the party with regards to GPU overclocking... Been playing with Precision X and my card has been overclocking way better than the numbers that most people seem to get, so I investigated further, which led me here.

My cards ASIC is 83.6% Which apparently is pretty darned great!

Here's my current overclock, aiming for more though. Not ran in to any stability issues at all yet, temps are still well within safe range with only 50% fan speed.
