Hey guys, I was looking at all these different tools to disable the driver updates and everything else in Windows 10 and all of them still seem to have some issue. I think I found something that you can customize that won't force you to update anything and that just works and maybe some of you already even have it.
 
 
 
 
 



+1, I'm already back to 7 for good. Windows 10 is a hackers playground. I couldn't believe all of the extra Services for things like X-Box and Quad Band GSM detection along with countless holes in the Firewall for God knows what. It scared me. Try disabling anything and everything comes crashing to the ground with countless errors in your Event Viewer.

  • No select update? (Download and install all updates is very stupid!)
  • No show update size before start download? (Sigh, I got bandwidth reason. Office 2013 is having incoming big updates)
  • No cancel button during downloading update? (Srsly? When did you become Apple iOS? I made this http://i.imgur.com/Suf79CX.png)
I am very disappointing. I am currently running Windows 10 Pro. I got disable auto download and install update with local group policy editor. I can't figure out how to disable window update detecting/searching drivers. I am sure newer Nvidia drivers blocked Windows Update install trash Nvidia driver.

I tried disabled windows update services first time before start windows activation by connecting wifi. They ended up blocked (just one time.) my product key until I re-enabled windows update service and restarted my PC. And Windows Store wont connected to internet without windows update service. It said bad day.

No need disable Windows Update service because there is other way disable auto download and install on Windows Update's hidden setting in local group policy editor.

Why Windows Store? Because I like netfilx app because they are faster than netfilx web. (Update from Windows Store as well)

I know. It is for IT guys lazy for sure. Do gpedit.msc edit system's registry? I think I saw lock screen registry is changed by gpedit.msc after I used. Maybe you can manual edit/add registry in Windows 10 Home.

nope, the only one that we updated was my son's. Its Wind-X home 64. He went to bed but will check it out some more tomorrow. That tool thing seems to work but the nvidia driver is still there (353.62)in the update window and its such a pita to reinstall we don't want to try manual update to see if the tool actually keeps it from installing the driver again. So we disabled in services. Will see what happens.
 
With all the buzz on the web about this, it's just a matter of time before MS fixes this permanent. They have to know it was a bad idea to launch an OS like this,,,,, major pita,,
 
 
 
 I mean,,,, really!  
 
edit: forgot, on a good note, we were able to clock the old 465 Fermi's up another 75 mhz on the cores, there running about 75 and 85c on his test bench at full load but stable. He's been running Witcher 3 with no problems at 1080 for a few hours earlier.

Major invasion of privacy too. All of those extra services and holes in the firewall are for gathering information about your every move and selling the data to marketers. I wouldn't be surprised if they already snagged my contact list from my email accounts. There's already a big stink about it on the evening news here.

How ironic, I was watching Star Trek - The Motion Picture, got an email from Gabe Aul to try the 90 evaluation of "Enterprise", LOL. >>>downloading now.

No matter how MS tries to whitewash the update issue...it is still a biggie.  I had 4 reservations for four machines.  I "might" upgrade my tablet and let it go at that.  Not sure I want to throw a live hand grenade in a full room...

EDIT: will become like any unactivated os, black desktop and shut down after 1 hour, cant be un-installed
 
I keep a couple of extra ssd's around for them. just swap them out when I want to use it
 
EDIT: IF YOU WANT TO USE THIS I RECOMMEND SWAPPING THE DRIVES COMPLETELY OUT, I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH EVALUATIONS READ/WRITE TO OTHER DRIVES EVEN WHEN DISABLED IN MB BIOS
 
it's a clean install iso, so you dont have to upgrade anything, just install to a formatted drive
