I'm very pleased with the card I got, no buzzing or CW of any kind so far. regarding the cooler and the fans, I use a custom fan curve so noise and temps are more than ok for me. I didn't use any other GTX970 brand to compare but what I got with the FTW was more than worth the money I paid for (IMO). desktop values with only youtube video in the background, I don't use 0 fan mode: http://abload.de/img/msi_1kqadh.jpg my custom fan curve, even in heavy gaming around 70C. http://abload.de/img/msi_2d4xwj.jpg it coould be even better if I find time to fine tune the curve.

Nope. No idea what's different between them.

Gigabyte G1 73.5%. Its boost per MSI Afterburner is 1392. Since its base clock is 1178 versus the FTW's 1216, I guess that would be like a FTW boosting to 1430-1437 range.

Funny, My two ssc with a -26mhz clock boosting higher than yours ftw. 1405mhz. ASIC around 73%.
I guess it's the higher power target who affect the value.
So the new ftw+ should boost around 1430mhz I guess

The meaning of ASIC and what it affects you find where the ASIC shows . ASIC around 70% -75 is average. I'd say 75% of all gtx 970 have a ASIC around that % Temps is fine

on read-out of my SSC (non-plus), GPUZ shows an ASIC-Score of 80.4%, boost during ValleyBenchmark is 1430.2MHz. Interestingly GPUZ says default clock is 1216MHz which would correspond to an FTW as far as I know. On the cooler's housing it clearly states SSC, although the cooler system itself look like an FTW in my eyes ;) Well, I intended to setp-up to the SSC+ version. But as it seems I got rather lucky with my ASIC score I am not so sure anymore

So it is a ssc with ftw clock speeds Is there a "ssc" on the cooler? Cool if they mixed up :) Also nice ASIC ! I see it hit the power limit, now and then. With the new ssc and ftw, that is not a problem..

You should be boosting higher than 1367. Mine is in the mid 60's and it boosts to 1380 like veelckoo.
