How'd you step up? My products aren't eligible for some reason.

Interesting. TJ stated that he resolved his issue by matching like cards, no response from evga but a response to a different subject in regards to a step up program, shouldn't that be in another topic?

On topic, why are hynix and samsung memory cards not working in SLI? That seems to be the question...

@Faltrex....the older 780 was not eligible as I had stepped up it previously back in May when the announcement was made. I sold that one outright yesterday for a small loss.

The new card I bought last Tues was eligible....buuut the well known online retailer actually agreed to a full refund and waived the restocking fee, which was amazing to say the least. Especially aince the product was not eligible for return. So I am shipping it back on Mon for a full store credit and grabbing another 980. Figured they will get stock way before my Step Up is fullfilled. If you bought your newer card from a certain egg, give them a call, you might be blown away by their customer service.

At the end of the day though, I'm still going with EVGA....just in case there in a 980ti looming in the not so distant future I can step up again doing it this way.

Given that we users have smoked out the issue with the cards though, I would be shocked if EVGA didn't make right by the people affected by this issue. I just have little patience when im spending this kind of money.

Dear Valued Customers,

I can confirm that we have looked further into this with our product management team and it is confirmed that the cards must be of the same device ID to ensure that SLI is working through the Nvidia drivers without modification. We are very sorry for any confusion that may have been caused and if anyone needs help with their SLI with the GTX 780 6GB model cards then please email me at chrisb@evga.com or call our 24 hour support at 1-888-881-3842 option 1 and we will work with you.
