Don't see any need for more rules. You don't like someone's post ignore it.

Link dropping with no useful feedback from the user is technically considered spam.

IMO this is not a problem for me. Sure it may annoy some people, but I don't think we need to enforce some new requirement on how to post news. If you don't want to open and read a news article link that the poster didn't bother to comment on themselves, well then don't.

Not really. The majority of links are not considered spam unless if its something stupid and uninformative or something irrelevant to the thread. I sometimes create threads and I just provide a link with no comment. I do this because I want to see what people have to say before I put my input. I like to read peoples opinions before I express my own at times. I generally like to see what people's mind set is on said topic.

To preempt a discussion on spam, the TOS and the mods (and admins) understand spam to mean links or postings designed to deceptively (or sometimes blatantly) sell stuff, whether by linking to an external site or content in a narrative to persuade people to buy a product.  The TOS is a bit more precise in this regard, but that's basically it.

Although members (and sometimes mods) may use the term "spam," that's partly because it's in most of our vocabularies to mean repetitive posting of content, like images or smilies.  However, for TOS purposes, spam is more clearly defined as content that is improperly trying to be sold on the forum.  Link dropping is not considered spam, in this regard.

I might actually take this thread seriously....... if the OP hadnt made 6-8 of these "only a link threads" ina 10 min period, multiple times.

I might not post alot, but Im well aware of what goes on here.

Think most of the members here that actually care about these boards know exactly why RJ does it.
