It's just a sure sign of a defective component. They do fail on occasion. It does stink that it happened. But on the plus side, you will get a brand new one with the RMA because it hasn't been in your possession long.

A brand new one was what i had.
On the down side it still remains to be seen if it has caused any damage to other components in my computer. So far the computer seems to be in good shape but has this incident shortened the life of any other components? If the replacement has the same faulty components and this happens again will i be as lucky? Will I be the one using the computer when it happens or will it be one of my children? I had the frame of mind to unplug it and grab a fire extinguisher, not sure if a nine year old would.
Basically what i am saying is I will have no "Piece of Mind" with one of these products. I paid for Quality, then i paid extra for "Piece of Mind". Not sure i received either of those.
