The Titan X Pascal will be out for sale on August 2 and there is no sign for the 1080Ti. I think that NVIDIA will not release a GTX 1080 Ti, only the Titan at a price that will empty my wallet. I have a GTX 1080 SC and work perfectly well at a resolution of 3440x1440p, so why wait if you don't need that extra performance.
GTX1080Ti and real TITAN with HBM2 and full chip depend a lot from AMD.
Even if AMD fail they will launch him 10-12 months later as new premium card last before Volta.
TITAN X was great, he offered great improvement of over 50% over GTX980 and increase from low 4GB to 12GB memory. TITAN Black was great as well and for gaming and still is good for professional work...
Price difference was around 400$, now price difference is same only people get less than 30% performance increase and jump from 8 to 12GB is nothing important on any resolution available at the moment. NVIDIA gone to far with this TITAN, I thought that would some big WOW with something really special, but this card with 3500 CUDA cores with same type of memory as GTX1080 and some 4GB more not worth to even comment nothing... GTX980Ti was bad because it's crippled, but at least she replaced price of GTX980. Now this is most expensive TITAN only crippled, with GDDR5X and 12GB as TITAN X. People with TITAN X SLI should only laugh and continue further until Volta show up. They not worth to compare performance at all.
NVIDIA will try to sell card as hardware 50-60% stonger than TITAN X, marketing will be concentrate in that directions, reviews and etc because they want to people with TITAN X SLI Maxwell replace their configuration for single card even if they lose little performance.
...but when people start to overclock their custom GTX1080 they will get 15-20% less performance than 400-500$ more expensive card.
If reference TITAN X is 30% stronger than GTX1080, somewhere I saw and less performance, probably between 25-35% at the end...
Problem is because TITAN will be only reference with reference clock, and GTX1080 will be with 100-150-160MHz fabric overlocked.
That's 10% stronger card... because I say this was too much BAD. Even 3840 CUDA and 12GB GDDRX5 for 1200$ is not worth... Maybe 16GB HBM2 and than somehow to sell for 1200$ and even than people will say Every year 100-200$ higher price, we don't care for HBM2, that's logic improvement and similar things. But this was ... VERY BAD. Worse TITAN for now and most expensive. I think this will be moment when people will say Now is enough.
Not all of them, but enough people.
But this is bad and for people who decide to buy GTX1080, their price will not drop before Vega show up, no one normal will pay crippled TITAN instead GTX1080 SLI for same money. And better GTX1080 models will stay around 750-800 instead to drop on 550-600$.
