I'm trying to get user opinions on this capture card. Compared to other competitors or is it the same. I did notice the extra things that this thing can do but set up wise and interference is it better. Like i legit want to buy one just want opinion from the consumers. Any issues encountered or is it that premium premium if you know what im saying.

The card has some cool features like RGB and the dial on it is helpful.

Yeah, you can stream and record pretty well on those 12 core - 14 core - 16 core CPU's etc.
But these capture cards come with some handy software, that is i think what you don't get with other software's for CPU capture/streaming.

    Hey-o,
I personally own an XR1 got the first batch and i think its pretty neat, i use it for capturing an old xbox for streaming to discord here and there, and honestly works really well, with the new consoles coming out supporting high refresh rate gaming like the series s supposed 2k 120hz I can see the APT (advanced pass through) mode being a huge sell for people that want to stream some casual games, then maybe get a little competitive later on enabling the 120hz pass through taking the full output of your consoles signal to your display also assuming that's 120hz.
Overall i think its pretty good depending on the application that is ^^

Have you tried any other old hardware Daniel?  Like GC or PS2 or even further back?  I'm thinking of getting one for this.

I'm in the same boat here...I've signed up on the Shuffle a few times for bundles including these. They have my interest for older hardware like SNES, 65, and Dreamcast. I know people say Elgato is trash but I'm too scared to pull the trigger on any of them lol

EMO you can get them now for $100 at some places now which seems like a good deal considering it includes an Amp too.

Good looking out. Maybe I'll just pull the trigger then. $100 isn't bad at all.

Yeah and I went to YT and watched a review which thoroughly outlined what XR1 can do...it's a capture card for console gaming, it can even do 480i and if it was patched it could likely handle 240p. It works with RetroTink but not with most modes of the OSSC.
I'll likely try it on Analogue and the Mini's, seeing how it does.  I suppose the only gripe I have looking at it is I wish it was a little more expensive and could self-capture.

Is there any value to having a capture card if you don't stream?

NO, none at all, a capture card is useful if you "capture" your gameplay for later upload to youtube for example or make other contains and definitely is not necessary if you stream.

Agreed, I was of the mindset that Elgato was the gold standard of capture devices,...perhaps I've been mislead.  I see EVGA giving away several of the XR1 in their Twitch streams.  Should I be fortunate enough to win one (fingers crossed) I would be thrilled to give a review!
