I am aware that there is a thread asking pretty much the same question.... but it does not have complete information on the subject at all.  I am curious to see who is running x56xx DUAL QPI link Xeons on the x58 Micro 756.  Sure BIOS 83 works with 32nm Xeon Hex cores...  as long as they don't have dual QPI links :(.   When I use a dual QPI link Xeon I get the lovely FF post code just like I did on my 760 classy before modding it...  I contacted EVGA support and they told me that BIOS 83 works but that he got the info from the forums :/.

I flashed to BIOS 83 with the i7 920 and swapped the x5650 in after verifying the flash was good.  Post code FF woot.  :(

Apparently I have to have a mod and I cannot find the correct place(s) to mod anywhere online.  I've done the mod(s) to my x58 758 and x58 Classy 760 but I cannot find it for the x58 Micro 756 :(.  Does anyone have any information on this?  I REALLY want to put one of my x5650's in the micro for a SFF LAN box... the 920 just doesn't cut it for me in it.

Thanks
kP

Thanks GabrielT.   If it needs a mod I just need a picture of where it needs it.  I really don't want to waste $60 (shipping included) to have EVGA do something I am more than qualified to do on a product with no warranty anyway.

I kind of figured that but the E756 Micro has a different layout than any of the others that required the hard mod(s) and I cannot find any info anywhere on where I need to mod :(.

For all who need this info, you can pay $50 for EVGA to do it... or wait until I find the point(s) to mod and make it available. :D

Do you still have this information to modify or whatever for the 121-BL-E756 board (EVGA X58 Micro SLI) ?   I have acquired a six core X5675 from a decommissioned server that I'd like to use to replace my I7-950.  Thank you.  I know this is an old post..
