i think my graphics card may be very much so under performing as i can seem to get it to 1900 mhz anything past that my game crashes and closes upon starting game

Mine is oc'd +100 core and +1000 memory. Peaking at 2100 MHz and pretty consistant at 2050.

2100mhz is what his card is boosting to. Without the +100 he would be reaching 2000mhz. What your card boost to depends on heat and voltage.  With these new cards I wouldn't bother overclocking for gaming. It's pointless and it's just gonna make a hot card run even hotter for a 1-5 FPS gain. Plus I believe voltage is locked on the 2000 series so overclocking and boost potential is very limited.  I am only 80% sure on this though.

*1620mhz is the base clock for the 2070. You're card is factory overclocked to 1710. 1900mhz is over performing. I'd check your temps to see if that's the reason for your crashing past 1900mhz.

If you don't know how 1725 + 100 = 2100MHz, I wonder if you know for sure that your card is only reaching 1900 MHz.  Perhaps your math is telling you 1900 MHz, but the actual boost speed is 2100 MHz or more.  Please verify.

The first tab, or the sensors tab?

I'm not trying to call you out.  I just want to verify that we are all on the same page.  Your comments so far have been brief and fuzzy.

^^ My video card above.  Note that the first tab (in the left instance of GPU-Z) says that my GPU clock is 1827 MHz and that the boost prediction is 1954 MHz.  But then look at the second instance of GPU-Z (recorded at the exact same time) and that in the sensors tab it reports that my actual core clock is 2126 MHz at that moment.  That is with a +220 core offset.  1607 MHz + 220 MHz = 1827 MHz.  That makes sense.  But then what is that 1954 MHz boost prediction?  And, what?  2126 MHz actual?  What!?  GPU Boost is the answer.  The boost speed you attain is dependent on core voltage, power consumption, temperature, and utilization necessary, and can't be contrived or predicted.  You can't just use math.  You need to monitor the actual present frequency (in the Sensors tab of GPU-Z, for instance), if you haven't been.

I'm able to get a stable OC of +206 on the core clock (total of 2010 mhz) with a voltage of 1013 mV

What volts etc are you running to get that OC stable?

I normally run +125/+1000, but I've been getting some artifacting, so ram's down to 500 right now. I find it all strange since temps max hover around 60-61C. If you don't understand why core clocks are above 2000 with a +100, then you should research how nVidia's GPU Boost works. I downclocked the core to +100 and was still getting over 2000Mhz on the core.

If i run overwatch OC'd at anything over +250 on mem and +125 on the gpu. I have the power slider at 130% with the voltage slider at 20.

Should I be running the memory at +750 and the gpu at +100? or should I just not OC at all? sorry to high jack your post with another question.

i have the same card, paired with a 7800x 6 core, and 64gb of 3200mhz VengenceLPX ram.

I had to turn down my overclock to +115/+999, it was reporting 8001 on RAM, and crashing FFXV, seemed like that 1mhz helped. As for the Core, some stuff worked fine at higher overclock, like Timespy, but Firestrike didn't like it, neither did a few other games I have, so far for my setup it seems to work. Boost Core clocks are stable around 2040mhz, at roughly 60C max.

im currently testing 1008 on mem and 60 on core. both power sliders maxed in X1. runs about 55-61. i do have a thermaltake p3 open air case, that probably helps.

I had a lot of issues with X1, so I only use Afterburner from now on, X1's been inconsistent, and buggy since I bought my 2070.

I couldnt seem to figure out afterburner. some of the stuff didnt work, like it wont let me control fan speed.

do you have an EVGA card and run afterburner? can you control fan speed?

Yeah, it's under the settings for it. I changed the skin under options to one I was used to. I've used Afterburner for years though.

So with the OC's you guys are getting are better speeds than a Super Ultra @ standard speed. So If I want to OC I should save the extra dough and get the non-super?

Supers naturally will have a tad more horsepower since they come with more cores.  2304 vs. 2560 Cuda Cores when comparing the 2070 XC Ultra Gaming to the 2070 SUPER XC Ultra Gaming.
