I had the "normal" revodrive, not the X2 and sent it back after a week of unscucessful trying. It was impossible to boot from it with win7.

Just got my Vertex2 drive today. its slower, but it should work :)

I got my Revodrive X2 100 GB to work in SR2, I had a lot of trouble with it in the start and was about to send it back.
I had GFX card in the first pcie and the card in the 2 next pcie and that didn't work, i got it to boot at it, when I disbaled the integrated raid on the sr2 and then installed win7, but it would fail in the last boot of the installed and I then decided to try it in a Asus Rampage II motherboard and in that it worked great and would finish the install of win7 and all was great.
I then plugged it into the sr2 in the first pcie and it went straight into win7 and installed all the new devices for the motherboard and booted and have worked great since then, running now for 4 days, I will later try and move it back to pcie 2 or 3.
Im running, sr2, Xeon 5620 overclokked to 3.6 Ghz 200 Mhz fsb.
    regards

I just ordered two Revodrive x2's...  Good to see Jonathan's success - i've read some of the forum posts around cloning to the revo to get win7 working correctly (without BSOD issues recurring).

I am hoping to use a 240GB revo x2 as my OS Drive, and a RAID 0 pair of 256GB Crucial Sata3 SSD's.  And/Or possibly the second revo instead of the Crucial SSD's.  Can the two play nice together?

I expect there will be trouble with the onboard RAID controller - what about a dedicated PCIE controller for the SSD's?  If all else fails i'll just run one and use the other 256 ssd elsewhere.

Minor hijack - hope you don't mind.

Thats awesome Jonathan !!! Lucky you, ...I tried mine in all slot combinations (revo in 1,3,5) with one GFX. Installation went fine. But the first boot always failed. Maybe there is really a difference between the RevoDrive and the RevoDrive X2. I dont know.. or you had the "magic hand" :)
I just decided that i go for a more hassle free simple SSD. I need a reliable rig for work and I better loose some speed...

Anything new according a Revo in a SR-2 as bootdrive for win7. until now i've been not able to get it working.
I've tested like some here said with disconnecting all other drives first but it fails at the first reboot with bluescreen.
I'll now try to install it to another SATA SSD and then mirror it to the revo, if possible.
I hope to get the onboard-controller in raid5 working then as well.
    Anyone here did that successfully?

ok. that's unfortunately what i thougt after all this messing around. is there any reliable and fast substitute for about say 500$? are the newer revos like the x2 or the z-drive any better? or at least a seperate raid-controller and two 2,5" SSDs?

    thanks all for help.
    best regards.

I have both the 240 and 480 x2's.  I don't think they will work together but will try and let you know.  (waiting on a CPU so may be a bit)

In a month or two.. or less the new OCZ Vortex 3 drives (im sure there will be MANY other vendors using the new SF-2000) should be out. On paper they are supposed to hit 500+MB/s. and most likely cost a quarter the price of a Revo. You also wouldnt have to worry about some of booting issues. Or the Revo X3's ... 1GB/s..

Not knocking the Revo at all but I was about to pull the trigger on either a Revo or 2 Corsair SATAIII drives. Figured I'd wait on the new chipset and just use two VelociRaptor.

Got RevoDrive X2 240GB. Post and boot are normal. Windows 7 Ult 64-bit setup gives blue screens. I haven't loaded windows a single time. I think I will return it. Stable system is better than fast one with blue screens(hate'em)

    In 1 hour...

Got it to work after disabling SATA and AHCI in BIOS. I am on a roll... does somebody know how to disable that Marvel controller?

    Next day...

Lost 1 module of 60GB, drive is no longer valid on POST. This $hit goes back for refund.

I doubt it. In order to setup Win 7 Ult on it without a freaking BSOD every time, I had to disable all other controllers in the BIOS. That means no other drives work. Revo does NOT play well with other PCI-E SSD drives according to numerous posts, so I would say no. If you have an SR-2, don't risk it. This hardware is not returnable. I have a $600 piece of hardware that gives me nothing but headaches. To say it short, if SATA drives present, even worse in some kind of RAID - REVO will crash. Mine lost 60GB and became unusable.

Descent setup man, but I cannot comment on how Revo will work with Vertex 3. If you have to disable SATA in BIOS, where is your Vertex now?

Why is EVGA so quiet on this issue? Please techs shed some light on why SR-2 + Revo = SUCKS!

seems to me that it's probably more something for ocz to fix than evga responsability.

I really hope you can make it work, cuz that's the setup I wanted for my system:
RevoDrive X2 - OS and Games
Some other SSD - programs and such
    or
RevoDrive X2 - Games and progs
    Some other SSD - OS

Please post the results success on not, best of luck!

OK so finally i got my lcd (dell u3011).I put all parts together and runup system.Lots of options at BIOS but lets go forward.
    I have 2 issue:
1.Need  to disable AHCI because instalation of winodws at my vertex 3 ssd was stock. Now drive is working at IDE.
Question:Should I enable Ahci and change IDE to AHCi for sata ports? Why my Vertex is doing 380R not 500?Because of this?Maybe old sata drivers?
2.As I expected Revodrive is not working as some SSD.I mean  my WIN7Ultimate 64 bit is installed at Vertex ssd but If I install Revo x2 120gb to PCIE  then system is freezen at loading (starting windows and die) and BSOD(0x000000124).System is not overclocked at all.
    Here is more info.

I had the same error 0x000000124 while BSOD and some others I don't remember now. I suggest to open a support ticket with OCZ and have a tech to look at the issue. I ended up returning mine for refund based on grounds to be defective when 60GB module disappeared and never came back, rendering the drive inaccessible. I may have played with it some more but such a failure crossed the Revo from my list. Best of luck to you with yours.
