Evga 112-ck-nf72-k1 nvidia geforce 7050/6?0I integrated gpu ram: 512mb hd: sata 40GB cpu: pentium 4 dual core E5200 2.8gz should I buy new graphics card or more ram my goal is to play minecraft a java game curremt os: windows xp 32bit it was 78%cpu usuage and 600mb usuage runing minecraft lol? Any help? I can overclock if I must

Minecraft is fairly minimal on the graphics requirements. You should be fine provided your java install is more current. I doubt it requires a very powerful graphics card. I can play it on my older Gateway laptop which only has integrated graphics from the system itself.

it plays but about every half min or so the video like lag spikes and task manager says its using 600mb ram which is more than I have atm

Yes. More Ram is a good idea if you only have 512 mb. I'm sure Windows and other programs running in the background are eating most if not all of that up.

Here is his mobo and I superimposed a regular DDR2 dimm next to the slot for reference. Notice the slot alignment. Looks like regular DDR2 to me.

Ty all for the replies I believe it is ddr3 ram and ddr2 is standard ill check wut kind I currently have in it when I get home and yea as I said before the amount of free ram when I have when I ran mc was -100mb ram yes it was using 600mb ram so that's y id assume more ram but juss wanted to double check and also plz post ram sticks available to buy online so I can choose and its double ram I believe or well dual channel ram slots I believe

All the ram I saw in Newegg that was 2x2GB DDR2, the most cost effective brand I trusted was that G.Skill. It was $2 more than the cheapest matched set. The cheapest was $55.

An alternate option is get a single 2GB DDR2 dimm and get a second one when you can afford it. Make sure they're matched though. That's the main reason why I suggested buying both sticks at once in a kit.

"current specs: 3gb ram 2.7GHz AMD Sempron(tm) 140 Processor NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 windows 7 64bit i would use 64 bit xp on this if i could but the ethernet drivers arent available for this model, so the problem i have is minecraft (a java game) is a little laggy not alot but even my other system mentioned in this post: handles minecraft like a dream compared to this machine any idea what might be wrong here and how to make minecraft run smoother or get the most out of my graphics card? whatever came with the machine compaq desktop model: cq5504f here: now any help or possible solution? i turned vsync off as recommended by a guide ive updated drivers ive tried alot of stuff, 64 bit java etc, any idea if this graphics card is even any good at all for minecraft? i researched but i got a yes and a no" since it wont let me post anymore links heres a quote of my original msg on other post
