As a side note, what are your thoughts on a new gpu based on Nvidia Volta architecture coming out this year? Seems doubtful since the CEO mentioned that Pascal based architecture will remain the leader in the gaming industry for the foreseeable future.

yeah i mean, they probably not in a rush, but i doubt they wait tooooo too long because competition isn't the main driving force. they will make money with a new product, but pascal is strong enough to keep attracting buyers for another 6 months. After a while so many enthusiasts buy into the existing architecture that it sells less over time because there isn't much anyone left to sell to. Each new gen that comes out attracts more of the main base of gamers to spend more moneys.
But with mining being a thing idk what their strategy will be. Really wish they would release a massive lineup of mining specific gpu's to keep miners away from gaming cards.

I absolutely agree. Mining-centric cards can't come soon enough so all those miners can hoard those cards instead.

Are there are significant differences between the 1080 ti SC2 and FTW3, other than the fan? Seems like performance-wise, they perform similarly. I guess the only other factors would be thermals and noise. Worth the extra $40?

I never bought for honor because it was like $60 when it came out. I think you can get for decent price now. Might be worth, but my friend that did buy it only played it for like a week. Currently I've been playing the forest, pretty good survival game. Slow paced though, better as co-op.

I'm not personally big into overclocking my GPU's so I typically just go with whatever the cheapest model is that at least has 2 fans on it and by a reputable manufacturer. But in today's market I would even go for reference cards lol as long as the price is right. The way I see it the only reason why anyone should get a badass aftermarket card with 3 fans on it is if they intend on overclocking it. Some people spend all the extra money and don't even overclock its a shame. Might as well get a single fan card if not overclocking. It will still run cool at base clocks even in a crappy case.
