There has to be an EVGA acquisition in the works. That's my guess at least.
Nah, they hounded Andrew Han about that very thing and he said he would never sell. They are basically going to sell PSU's, motherboards and accessories... that's it.
That is definitely older news from last year right before Nvidia's GTC Keynote in September (essentially the launch party for 40 series). My thinking is that Andrew's media dump (The GamerNexus interview) was a strategic maneuver to try and get Nvidia back to the negotiation table. I remember this clearly as the interview came out the Friday before Nvidia's GTC. The timing is very suspicious. And lets not forget that EVGA had already put a ton of RnD into 40 series, even having prototypes built. Put it all together and it seems like a Hail Mary.
I think it is safe to say that although the announcement of EVGA leaving the GPU scene was big news, it didn't quite have the impact that maybe Andrew was hoping for. And it is probably safe to assume that the ship has sailed with Nvidia.
If there is anything I know, it is that CEO's change their minds all the time and nothing is forever.
