There has to be an EVGA acquisition in the works.  That's my guess at least.

Something is most deff going on and we aren't getting the whole story. I'm sure we won't any time soon either but it would be nice to know for sure.

If so, we can hope/bet it's not NVIDIA? Wonder if it'll be Intel to help boost the ARC line and maybe some gaming MBs (since EVGA mostly just does intel MBs anyway).

Nah, they hounded Andrew Han about that very thing and he said he would never sell. They are basically going to sell PSU's, motherboards and accessories... that's it.

As someone else said they asked Andrew Han about it, he said he would never sell and would rather let the company die. Next EVGA is a liability they no longer have the one thing that made them popular. Their products minus their motherboard that there are no new plans coming are pretty sub par also have been seeing some of their newer products already discontinued. The company is a liability at this point and no longer an asset with the bridge burned to the ground with nvidia, with all the downsizing, income coming in reduced. No sane company would buy them anyways as they are a big liability now not an income producing powerhouse.

The good will on EVGA alone would have fetched a good sum, but still Han would rather it die. Kinda selfish - so many people negatively impacted.

I note EVGA did not seem to deny the story, they just confirmed it was a rumor. A rumor does not mean something is false. Maybe splitting hairs, but...

That is definitely older news from last year right before Nvidia's GTC Keynote in September (essentially the launch party for 40 series).  My thinking is that Andrew's media dump (The GamerNexus interview) was a strategic maneuver to try and get Nvidia back to the negotiation table. I remember this clearly as the interview came out the Friday before Nvidia's GTC.  The timing is very suspicious.  And lets not forget that EVGA had already put a ton of RnD into 40 series, even having prototypes built. Put it all together and it seems like a Hail Mary.

I think it is safe to say that although the announcement of EVGA leaving the GPU scene was big news, it didn't quite have the impact that maybe Andrew was hoping for.  And it is probably safe to assume that the ship has sailed with Nvidia.

If there is anything I know, it is that CEO's change their minds all the time and nothing is forever.

You guys need to stop denying or guessing.  All you have to do is watch Gamer Nexus's video about the interview he had with EVGA's CEO.  Add the loss of some of the big names from EVGA, you'll start getting the picture.

The end.
