What is your guys experience so far? On my MSI Z690 Tomahawk I was able to do 1:1 gear 1 mode 3900mhz CL14-15-15-35. On my ASUS D4 board that I just got I am able to do 3733 at the same timings. I believe my 12900K is not the best bin or memory controller but clearly the ASUS board doesnt have the same memory stability yet. The MSI board definitely had issues and the bios kept freezing on trying to save and exit. Even if I wanted to change fan RPM it would freeze.

My kit is rated for 4000mhz CL14-15-15-35. Single rank b-die of course.

Still better than what my Gigabyte board can do. My 3600 16-16-16-36 kit would only run in gear 2 with XMP enabled. I manually entered the speed, timings, voltage and gear mode to attain gear 1. However, both XMP and manually OCing the RAM was causing game crashes and WHEA errors. So, now I’m running a 3200 16-18-18-36 kit with XMP for gear 1.

Buildzoid did a video and it seems a bios could fix a lot of the gigabyte issues. Idk 3733 in gear 1 and cl14 is still extremely fast and stable. As I left for work I ran memtest for a bit at 3733 14-14-14-35-320 and I really hope its stable when I get home.

I saw his video and read up on Gigabyte Z690 DDR4 boards, but only after buying mine. Had I known about the issue beforehand, I'd have opted for MSI or Asus. I may yet still go that route since my Gigabyte board was purchased from Amazon, and Amazon's got their extended holiday return policy in place.

An EVGA mod confirmed no plans for a d4 board.

Huh? EVGA mods aren't EVGA employees. What do they know? They don't have access to any information that we don't have access to.
Can you provide a link? Did you mean EVGA tech instead of EVGA mod?

Was indeed posted by an EGVA Tech/Mod.  Unfortunate but true.

Got my ram running at 3733 14-14-14-35-320 stable with a 43 ring multiplier. 1:1 in gear 1. I think this is fast enough, however 4000 would have been nice because I know this kit can do it on zen.

That's awesome to hear! I happen to be running the Tomahawk as well so was hoping you might share more of your CPU/RAM settings as I haven't been as lucky despite knowing my ram kit can do more.
