What is your guys experience so far? On my MSI Z690 Tomahawk I was able to do 1:1 gear 1 mode 3900mhz CL14-15-15-35. On my ASUS D4 board that I just got I am able to do 3733 at the same timings. I believe my 12900K is not the best bin or memory controller but clearly the ASUS board doesnt have the same memory stability yet. The MSI board definitely had issues and the bios kept freezing on trying to save and exit. Even if I wanted to change fan RPM it would freeze.

My kit is rated for 4000mhz CL14-15-15-35. Single rank b-die of course.

Evga motherboards that launch 6 months late and dont support ddr5. Yet a another huge L for evga. Oh lets not forget the psycho price premium they are asking.

The EVGA Z690 boards only support DDR5, which is probably why your post was moved - because it discusses DDR4 & Z690. EVGA prices not yet announced, but being high-end motherboards I suspect they won't be cheap. ASUS high-end Z690 are also a long long way from cheap. Plenty of mid-range Z690 boards with DDR4 support available though - I've ordered an ASUS TUF DDR4 to use in the interim - EVGA's Z690 boards are due by the end of this year, but who the hell knows when DDR5 will be readily available (without paying $2,000+ to some asshat scalper on EBay).

Having said all that, I'll be interested in following this thread to see how people are finding the Z690 DDR4 memory tuning.. not many people running them yet though.

An EVGA mod confirmed no plans for a d4 board. Even if they do, it would be overpriced. Honestly for the price bracket EVGA asks imo its not even a competition, ASUS wins every time.

Huh? EVGA mods aren't EVGA employees. What do they know? They don't have access to any information that we don't have access to.
Can you provide a link? Did you mean EVGA tech instead of EVGA mod?

Doesn't matter, I've heard it direct from EVGA staff too. Also no T_header(s) on either Z690 board (2 pin headers for water temperature sensors). Still on target for release by the end of the year (that's from Jacob a few days ago).

No plans for a DDR4 Z690 board at this time.  Only DDR5 support.

Tbh I get the thread move but also not. There is no buzz around the EVGA boards as they are always extremely late to the party and the dedicated Z690 forum is fan fiction at this point. In reality its the only place in the forum to talk about anything 12th gen related that actually makes sense as its the most current hardware.

My kit is rated for 4000mhz CL14-15-15-35. Single rank b-die of course.

Still better than what my Gigabyte board can do. My 3600 16-16-16-36 kit would only run in gear 2 with XMP enabled. I manually entered the speed, timings, voltage and gear mode to attain gear 1. However, both XMP and manually OCing the RAM was causing game crashes and WHEA errors. So, now I’m running a 3200 16-18-18-36 kit with XMP for gear 1.

Buildzoid did a video and it seems a bios could fix a lot of the gigabyte issues. Idk 3733 in gear 1 and cl14 is still extremely fast and stable. As I left for work I ran memtest for a bit at 3733 14-14-14-35-320 and I really hope its stable when I get home.
