My EVGA FTW3 3090 ULTRA GPU PCIe +12V Input Power max at 79.586W, do you think I should/could RMA it? I plan to keep this card untill the next gen comes and I'm afraid it'll be harder to resell if there's something wrong with it. Thank you.
I have the same issue and would also like to know the answer to this if anyone can help.
Post #2 of this thread has EVGA_Jacob's posts about a special RMA program for the 3090 FTW3.
As has been stated in this thread about 2000 times, GPU-Z reading >67W on the PCIE slot is out of tolerance. The PCIE spec in 75W max, but GPU-Z only reads 12V wattage and not 12V + 3V wattage (67 + 8 = 75). So if you're almost at 80W read, then in reality it's ~88W or more. Some motherboards might be able to handle it if it's a high end one with supplemental power, but it's still out of a universal specification that all manufacturers of PCIE components are supposed to follow or they have to take the PCIE compliant off of their product.
