Posting this here as I have been following this thread and there have been a lot of comments about cards dieing. I wasnt even running the XOC bios this time.

beyond frustrated with EVGA right now. I've now had 2 3090 ftw3 hyrbrids fail on me. Both did the exact same thing. This time I was playing GTA5 for about 5 minutes and the card decided to black screen, fans 100%, followed by a no post. Red light by the pcie connector.  I've been watching these forums and this seems to be a common problem. I've literally owned hundreds of graphics cards(I have a problem) and I have never had so many issues. I have 6 pages of registered cards with EVGA. Maybe I'm just super unlucky .. PRoboably... I know for sure I'm super frustrated.  AFter spending 60 dollars for saturday shipping the last time... lets hope they comp the shipping for me this time. I know I know.. first world problems... but still. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI: Each card has lasted a little less than a month.

I give up playing GTA V on my 3090 FTW3 Ultra. If you insist on playing GTA V with 3090, you need to underclock it, approximately -100MHz at least for mine. Something should be wrong with the game, NV driver or vbios I guess, it cause partial overheat and burn gpu randomly during the game if clock is higher than 2GHz.

Probably it's just coincidence... but a lot of cards died while playing GTA5. Mine was one of them. I'm not playing that game anymore and the new replacement is doing 450w peaking 460w just right out of the box (stock)... while the defective one barely was able to hit 390w peaking 400w MAX... Great performance. I love this card. Customer service is just the best.

This is from an official eVGA person on another forum in response to is this BIOS still being worked on:

Good morning
The new bios should actually help to fix this problem, which is why it was already released in beta. Unfortunately there is still a problem, which is why feedback has been collected over the past few weeks via the international EVGA forum. So it's the programmers' turn and we assume that we will be able to release a new version shortly that will hopefully eliminate these problems for good.

Someone linked it earlier, but I thought I'd post the english translation.

So hopefully, soon, they'll at least update the Beta BIOS with a newer version, that will hopefully fix some of these power problems so that I don't have to RMA this card, since it's still pegging Power Limit at as little as 420W of power draw at times.

I never test it again, but i'll do it tonight :)
All this question has been answered many times (i read them lol)

1) Go to XC3 doesn't break the warranty, not same like the 1000W unlocked.
2) @arestavo give his feedback / It will not break your RGB/FAN if you delete X1 precision which will force update firmware to XC3 and will lost RGB/FAN control.
> So you have to delete X1 precision before flash and not using it after, but alternative like MSI AfterBurner per example.
3) Apprently, XC3 bios lock correctly the PCI-E delivery to 66W/75W max, letting the full power of the 8pin to be archieved. In this way, you can go under 500W. Easy ?
