Want to try it on aircooling with 50% - 52,5% limit.
I will be very careful about temp evolution....
My card is installed in gpu extension slot, It help just a little with heat lol.
I though to pass all my config in EK mode, but so much money invest already (5950X/X570 Xtrem....). Will do it as soon i can :)

Just look at youtube review and you will find many rtx-3090 score 12 750 in port royal !
 
So thinking the ftw3 under performing is far from the true unless you have a card with a real problem.
Some buy a strix rtx-3090 and cant hit 14k in port royal but i also saw some score 15k.
 
So over 14k in port royal and up its a silicon lotery, 15k coz you won the jackpot.
But like i said in a previous post even some dude score 15k its barely noticeable once in game at 4k coz fps will always goes up and down and 14.3k vs 15k its about 1.5 fps in 4k gaming if its not less !
 
And for 15.6k to 16k you need mod your card and void the warranty for 1k in benchmark ? is this worth it ?
Me i dont think i dont do benchmark contest and anyway you will always find someone who will beat you.
Kingpin itself broke or killed many cards do be in top 5. That's mean even with the kingpin card, just a limited amount of card will peform better then the others.

Coming from a 6800XT, I was getting sometimes better than 3090 with 300W. The raytracing and dlss + 24GB + custom OC makes me to buy the 3090.
I'm really happy with this card. But for what i want to do (play 4K rendering at 200% or 8k native) i need clearly the 4090... LOL
 
I'll not consider to SLI it, since SLI is **** and the price is high and i'm not rich.
But a ****ing 4090 in end 2022 watercooled, why not ... :)
 
 
Someone have any news about Resize BAR support for EVGA bios ?
My MB is already Rezise BAR on, and NVIDIA drivers is coming with it.
I hope they update release the XOC 500W bios with it, and not in 1month after :p
After testing the BAR on 6800XT, It was really good, I could get until +25/30% on max game compatible while some could get +3% only and even lost -1 lol.
A nice feature to have, combined to the 24G GDDR6X better than the radeon, it could be better ...

After a few days thus far of testing with my what looks like new in box replacement with a 2012 serial,   I've found it to be less of an overclocker,  is capable of hitting the 500 watts  but hits 85.3 watts PCI-e Slot power!!!! 

@eXp67 turn off the RGB from your card and you hit with some overclock (+175 core and +450mem) and 100% fans the 14k for sure. My best with that was 14,180. Normal oc bios 107%. It can go higher but i never touched the voltage slider or open the window for cold air and some background Programms are always on too. Im happy with the card and thats it. There is a bios update on the way for sure because of the new features nvidia advertised, we will see.

Edit and i would never use this high wattage bios...the xoc bios is ok but not this fry your GPU 1000 Watt bios.

For me, it has become pretty clear that many here are strictly in it for the status of saying they got a great "FILL IN THE BENCHMAK" score.  Real world testing in games yields at most 10fps (or 5%) delta in most games, and that's nothing when you are talking numbers in the 200fps area.
 
I'm with you, I enjoy the card for what I do with it; gaming.  Sure the benching is fun, but what does it get you in the end?  Notoriety to people who have no clue who you are or really don't give a rats ass?  The only one that holds a candle in that argument is the number one guy, which I'm sure he gets many perks for that.  I doubt any of us figured we would be number one buying a FTW3 card, nor do I think even .01% of us use LN2 to achieve such benchmarks.  Bottom line, it's pointless to worry yourself into a tizz and a RMA for something that is working to advertised specs (memory and core clock advertisements).

Mine did that when I first bought it. Even posted it on here. Then it stopped and limited itself to 450w.

Sorry to hear. I have been testing the card for a few days and pretty consistent. Hopefully it will stay as it is.

Posting this here as I have been following this thread and there have been a lot of comments about cards dieing. I wasnt even running the XOC bios this time.
 
beyond frustrated with EVGA right now. I've now had 2 3090 ftw3 hyrbrids fail on me. Both did the exact same thing. This time I was playing GTA5 for about 5 minutes and the card decided to black screen, fans 100%, followed by a no post. Red light by the pcie connector.  I've been watching these forums and this seems to be a common problem. I've literally owned hundreds of graphics cards(I have a problem) and I have never had so many issues. I have 6 pages of registered cards with EVGA. Maybe I'm just super unlucky .. PRoboably... I know for sure I'm super frustrated.  AFter spending 60 dollars for saturday shipping the last time... lets hope they comp the shipping for me this time. I know I know.. first world problems... but still. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
FYI: Each card has lasted a little less than a month.
