Hello :)

My first post on EVGA, my first card from them.
After having the 6800XT i decided to switch to 3090 model.
I know the quality of EVGA in the past, that why i would get one at least once.
Just after buying the the 3090 FTW3 Ultra, I investigate on it (don't why i do that after buying lool), and when i see this thread, i was nervous.
As i took notice of this thread just some minutes after my buy, i could cancel it and take the MSI Prime X 3090 which was available for less 100euros on same store.

But... I decided to see ... and .... 493W on air cooling.
OC RAM +850 GPU +155 works without crash.

Very niceee cards thanks Evga...

Bye

What were you running to test? I got my card to 497 watts just now by running a custom firestrike ultra test at 8k with all settings maxed. It ran at 4-6fps, but it certainly sucked down that power.

EDIT Just kidding 515w, check image

Has anyone that has shunted there FTW3 also tried the XC3 Bios while shunted?

I understand that most with a shunted card run the KP520w or maybe just the regular FTW3 XOC 500w bios because power is no longer a big issue but high PCI slot power draw is (100-125+w when shunted) and the XC3 has much lower initial slot draw.

So it would seem even shunted the power draw would be lower through PCI on XC3 bios and still get 600-700w+ depending on the shunt size you used..  Just an idea never seen anyone shunted comment on trying XC3 bios while shunted on FTW3...  Thanks!

Isn't the PCIE slot fuse 10A 120W? Sounds like "a bad idea."

mjemirzian2 you said with the xc3 bios your card performing a lot better but its not coz your score is the same then me with normal bios.

When you write this you dont show your out of the box performance in port royal so how we can compare your performing a lot better then before ^

I second what he said if you read I've been posting and testing XC3 forever...this BIOS is great for gaming NOT for Benching, and I'm on Air, maybe things change with a good waterblock. Read my posts before and you'll see.

First impressions bad, something weird with the osd in precision with this bios causing crashes, osd off and seems to be ok,... more testing and stuff improves..  pulling around 495w peak.. (no more than 75w from the pcie,  Stable at 2100/10000 76 degrees on air.. blocks not arriving till mid april :( )

Ya but if you want avoid problem you better to not play like this with your card.
I dont know whats the point of doing this unless you want run in to problem.
Me i enjoy the card like it should be and i play game and performance is great and from my experience when the card is ok, dont try to do miracle coz you can be verry fast desapoint if you brake your card.

Many i saw since those new rtx-3090 have made a lot of experience and show off big performance but what you dont know and what they dont talk much after is THEY BRAKE those expensive rtx-3090, belive it or not its the true. We are not talking here of a 200$ card and its not nice to show a way to some user if they can run into problem later. Me this is what i think.
