What percentage do you keep your shroud fan running to manage temps? I am attempting to set this part up today, and do you just use afterburner for that fixed %?

The fan shroud I keep at 75% all the time using AB, as that fan can get quite loud. Louder than two ML120 fans at 100%, which is crazy. Temps for memory and VRMs are all mid 70s at most from what little testing I did.

Hi,
I have updated to new BETA in both positions OC and Normal. Now when I am changing the position from Normal to OC the XP1 showing the same bios for both position ( Normal) and Fans profile remain unchanged ( stopped fans).
Meantime the GPU-Z showing the correct Bios version when I am changing from OC to Normal and Vice Versa , but the profile remains unchanged in both positions ( Fan remains idle even to OC position).
I tried to install the Normal Bios again with no any changes . Only one Bios showing to XP1 in both position.

Anyone else with same problem? Or is a problem with switch?

Had the same with the normal oc and stock bios. 2 ways for solving. Switch on running card then reboot and it shows the correct bios you have switched to, after the reboot.
Second way shut down then switch then reboot- now it shows the bios before switching (the wrong one) - only reboot again and everything works as it should. I dont know why but it works for sure.

Solution 1 for my understanding should not be the way to go, but i am not an expert.

You are right . I had to make two times restart to load and show the correct Bios. Thank you very much for your assistance .

So i have still found that the xc3 bios are still the best for over clocking, but has anyone else tested using aurous OC engine over afterburner to get more accurate fan control with xc3 bios?

I now have everything plugged up and fans running through a controller, one question: is this the regular xc3 bios that you’re flashing and using w/a hybrid and fan controllers or did you get a hold of the xc3 hybrid rom, I can’t find a rom for anything but regular xc3

I found an annoying but accurate way to control fans with AB, if you set the fan percent on the main screen, it’ll jump to what it’s actually using and show you. So I wanted 80 I had to run 86% if I want 70% plug in 79% to AB, 55% actual is 69% in AB 50% is 65. It’ll run it correctly it’s just off. Since 100% does reach 100% rpm speed, any number you want is attainable.

Just measure the PCIE slot power draw without an overclock, via GPU-Z, on the stock VBIOSs. If you're over 75W, RMA it for being out of spec.

How much over would be allow-able in your opinion? I see mine getting close to 77watts running 3DMark (board pulling around 460watts max with the OC bios). Thanks in advance.

The PCIE spec is up to 75W. If it is over that without an overclock on the stock VBIOS, then it's out of spec.

Whether or not you accept that is up to you. I accepted 76W continuous over the old card's 82W, but that's just me.
