What are u using to test this? this bios only works with benchmarks when hitting even close to 500w

With the XOC BIOS the card never could hit more than 450 watts no matter what benchmark or stress test I used.  It performed exactly the same as my two 2014 serial number cards.

EDIT:
For comparison, my MSI Gaming X Trio 3090 with the EVGA 500 watt BIOS in the same PC hit 500 watts and stays there.  With the Kingpin BIOS the Gaming X trio hits 520 watts and stays there.

With the SOTTR internal benchmark I got between 475 and 485 Watt (nearly 500). So it's a good test too.

Hi! Some time lurker and queued for a 3090 ftw3. Keep seeing that the xoc bios will not work for this card, but can the 520w kingpin bios be used instead? Or maybe the 1000w unlocked bios and keep it at 50% power limit? Coming from my Radeon, I would power play table the hell of that card and 450w stock limit seems very low considering my 3080 strix oc already comes with a 450w power limit and the 3090 has roughly 20% more cuda cores.

I just had my 2nd FTW Ultra flop and am now awaiting another RMA.
Really hoping the PCI-E power on this is better than the last.  Crashing got unbearable attimes.

How did you convince EVGA to give you an RMA?

There have been multiple posts about this.

You can use the LN2 520W Kingpin VBIOS, or the 1000W unlocked one (will void warranty). The 520W has the same problem as the XOC 500W if your card is power limited.

The 1000W VBIOS will cause a power limited FTW3 card to draw some insane power through the PCIE slot. Someone reported to me that theirs drew over 90W continuous with a total board power draw close to 520W - so I doubt limiting it to 50% power would be beneficial if you're at all concerned with keeping your card working a while.

That's why I'm not going to try it and stick with the XC3 VBIOS (post 3215) which somehow lowers my PCIE power draw to around 66W even when overclocked to 2100MHz. With the stock or XOC 500W VBIOS it was around 77W continuous draw when overclocked (76W without overclock, close enough to spec that I didn't RMA again), and in game would be around 1920 to 1950MHz (CP2077 4K Ultra RT preset).

Hopefully the card you get won't be a severely power limited one with out of spec (75W max) PCIE power draw with no overclock - if so, you won't have a problem utilizing the 500W XOC VBIOS (other than increased temps).

Don't believe this dude for one second. Hes a clown in the tech world and people laugh at him. He is a intel fanboy with little education. This bios works perfectly fine on boards made in China, with a solid power supply and testing it in a benchmark load like furmark or port royal. here is mine working fine.

I have a made in China 2012 serial number FTW3 Ultra and with the 500 watt XOC BIOS the card won't hit 450 watts in either PC I tested it in.  That's using an EVGA 1300 watt G2 power supply or a Seasonic 850 watt power supply.

Have you tried Furmark or any of blender benchmarks?

no hope anymore. it will stay like this till spring. I love EVGA but this time I had to give away my FTW3 Ultra.
Shame that I can't get a Kingpin Card in Europe.

Hi guys, been gone for a bit. Slapped a hybrid kit on the 3090. I guess the consensus is to use the XC3 hybrid bios on this thing, however, once flashed I can’t open precision or it will try to install incorrect firmware. So the solution is to use AB. I can do all of this, not too difficult...but how the heck am I supposed to control those fans with AB. When it was on air I tried this, linked fans and it was almost impossible to control them properly. Will I have to buy a separate fan controller? My experience was that 50% of the fans in AB resulted in only 25% fan usage (rpms).
