Do I need to flash to the Hybrid Bios when I install my Hybrid kit onto my 3090 FTW3 Ultra?

I returned the one I could still.return that had issues. Waiting to hear back from tech support on my KPE card that has some issues (been a few days now).

What kind of issues are you having with the kingpin?

With now 2866 listings to this thread in there own support forum ?!
Sorry, but even if this got fixed anytime next year this was my last EVGA card...

Already looking for an alternative, but getting a 3090 in germany is really hard right now.

At this point, is the 3090FE even worse or a good alternative to buy ??

3090 FE needs a backplate side thermal pad rework (pretty much all samples do--you can use Thermalright Odyssey 1.5mm for both sides and PCB hotspots no problem, this includes VRAM Also!), but is shunt mod friendly.  Some of the issues stopping other boards from exceeding 530W shunted (e.g. with PNY reference) don't seem to happen with the FE.  You can rework the thermal pads like this.

If you have an official 12 pin PSU cable (Seasonic, Corsair, BeQuiet, EVGA, etc), you can mod all the shunts with 5 mOhm stacked shunts for 700W TDP.  It's best to scrape the conformal coating off the silver edges of the shunts before modding, with a tiny flat blade screwdriver.  Just be careful of the edges of shunts being lower than the middle as that causes contact issues, especially with MG 842AR silver paint (8 pin #1 shunt is the hardest to get to because a choke is right next to one of the conductive edges).

A good protip to modding is to use Kapton tape around shunts if you are soldering (this is very helpful), or Super 33+ electrical tape if you are doing a paint mod (no soldering).

I am trying to figure out if I should start the RMA process, FTW3 Ultra. I want to trust EVGA to but they aren't inspiring much confidence.

Sorry if this has been answered before but is the 500w bios compatible with the 3090 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING? It just says 3090 FTW3 HYBRID Beside the download link so I just wanted to make sure. Part # 24G-P5-3988-KR

That's a good question. I just ordered my kit and I'm assuming I need to change bios.. I'm hoping it is the same power limit.

Same thing I'm wondering. Wanted to know if I need to move to the hybrid bios from my normal 3090 ftw3 ultra one.

I honestly would think so, the lighting is different and I'm not sure how else you'd control pump speed.

Or pump speed may be controlled by the bios but either way, it seems like you need to change to hybrid bios.
