Go back to the first page & read some of the members posts after Jacob's. They started saying & quoting him as having said 5 hours vice the actual 8 he posted.
I can't believe how many of them posted 5 hours which proves beyond any doubt my post about them going to an optician or back to school to learn how to read. :)

It was initially a 5 hour window, before it was changed to 8, BTW. So earlier post would have mentioned 5 instead of 8

In Texas, it's so cold in people's apartments and houses that the water in their toilets have been freezing.
Can you imagine having to sit on that in the morning?
Glad I can stand!

Hearing about other people's misery makes waiting for an RTX-3080 less distressing.

My parents are out of town and the battery on their thermostat died causing pipes and things to freeze here in MN. So I can understand some of the pain experienced by folks in TX.

On a side note, EVGA support came through and order placed. Should have my 3070 here soon.

This is new to us Texans.  So far my house has been lucky but my brother lost water and electricity, and my parents lost their electricity.  I'm wondering if this weather is effecting EVGA since there was no word on drops today (or at least I didn't see any message from Jacob about drops).     ....   No matter where you guys live, stay warm and stay safe. It's icy roads here.

But yes, the 5 hour window was revised to 8 hours and the early posts edited to reflect that.

Got the EK unit in (and it is an absolute unit, hefty hefty), debating if I want to bother with assembly tonight or just wait until tomorrow.  Wanna do it right now do it fast so not in a big hurry to get'er done.
 
Main thing I gotta keep in mind is doing the tubes a bit too long is actually better :-D

Well, they said the water would be back on, but it's still not. They can't get it to stop leaking. Ugh... at least I still have electricity, for which I am very grateful.
