They don't tell us the drop amounts because its really none of our business

I asked Jacob this once, they dont share that information.

Got my X17 in the mail yesterday. Looking forward to clicking that Buy Now button with it when ever I get an Email!

EVGA may not share the number of cards dropped for competitive reasons, or they might also know that sharing the number dropped really wouldn't do anything about the angst around drops. Either way it is what it is and it's good to have people like Enewt keeping track of the queue's progress.

Why pass on the FTW3 model vs wanting the XC3 model?

justin_43

Oof. I really hope for your sake the 3663 starts moving more. The ultra FTW3s really go out much faster. Hopefully you aren't waiting forever to save $30.

I'm pretty much set on the XC or the FE from Best Buy.  I just like their designs and I'm fine waiting for the my turn on the 3663 queue or getting lucky with FE from the Tue/Fri Best Buy drops.

I think enewt has mentioned he is conservative as well with the estimates just in case there are mistakes. For example, I believe 3755 dropped today and should be up to 3:18 am on 11/5 already. Likewise, 3767 should be up to 6:14 am on 10/30.

I think you are getting those data points from the spreadsheets.  I tend to find the spreadsheet data unreliable.  For example, the 3767 -- clearly in error -- currently lists the head of the queue at 2/16/2021.  In addition to those egregious instances of misinformation (that often don't get corrected for days or even weeks), too often folks input data for one 30 series family on the sheet of another model of the same family (e.g., entries for Gaming Ultras or Gaming Blacks often appear on the Gaming sheets or vice versa).

My summaries rely on actual reports back (both here and on other online sources I trust)...the last thing I want to do is to have my summaries get in front of the real head of the queue and cause folks to worry that they were skipped.

I correct the spreadsheet several times a day. People make errors when signing up but those are easy to correct and clean up. 3767 is currently at the morning of 10/30.

Sorry there are 100s, 1000s of people ahead of you and they only drop 10-100 cards per week.   At least EVGA makes it transparent.

I think that for EVGA to be more transparent is to show the exact number of cards of various SKUs that are dropped for the day. At least we know the quantity for each drop day.

They probably don't share the drop size information for competitive reasons.  Same for why they don't show queue movement because you can then extrapolate.

I can only blame myself for not signing up sooner.  I have been patiently waiting for the hydrocoppers to show up and then gave up late in the game.  At least I got what I needed near term.

There must be another reason why EVGA won’t release the number of drops. I can’t see how competition has anything to do with their decision. When there was a drop at Canada Computers of the 3090 FTW3 Ultra earlier this year (yes I’m in Canada), everyone knew the quantity; and for that matter in any retail stores. That’s how my brother got his. And I can’t see any harm in extrapolating ones position in the queue. But it’s their decision and I leave it at that.

Giving out more info about your company than you need to is usually the equivalent of talking too much. Sometimes it can backfire. Consumers don't need to know exact numbers about how many cards are dropping, or much of anything else for that matter. They are at the end of the product chain and don't have any leverage, especially in a situation like this where there is no competition. Do criminals need to know that a truck is pulling up at EVGA's shipping warehouse filled to the brim with expensive GPU's that can be sold off in minutes? Of course not, because EVGA is going to keep their collective mouth shut about stuff like that.

Man, I'm just hoping the 3090 FTW3 has a big drop today. I have everything ready for my project build except the GPU. It's gonna be a full hardline watercooling loop that uses copper pipes. It's just sad that there aren't any copper waterblocks for it.

My 3665 notification from 2:54:49 PM Pacific came in yesterday, but I decided to let it go after hovering on the submit order button for a bit.  I really want the 3663 and I'm only 7-8 minutes away from that.

Why pass on the FTW3 model vs wanting the XC3 model?

I have the same preference for use in a microATX PC upgrade.  More compact and one less 8-pin connection... usable in PCs with tighter quarters, and perhaps less power draw.  Although the specs indicate these boards draw the same power (200W), I don't believe it.  Guessing that the FTW3 will pull more, otherwise it's not really necessary to have such a substantial card (basically the same as the 3070 XC3 save for one less power phase, 9 vs 8 for the GPU from what I gather here).

More progress! That's great news! (I mean, i'm not signed up for this one, but still happy for everyone that's finally getting their cards!)

Congrats.
