EVGA and NVIDIA absolutely do not care who buys the card. it's a sale. they'll never leave pre orders to elite members or pre existing customers, because to them it absolutely doesn't matter. they don't care that bots are buying the cards. they don't care that they're selling to scalpers. $800 and $1700 are just numbers they're more than happy to get from anyone. there's no camaraderie in business.

EVGA has stated each order is being looked at to see if they spot bots.

Then what? Cancel the order, then back to inventory for the next bots to grab? How does that help?

I think you may be on to something. Prioritize by the age of the buyer. Older people can buy first. I'm 58 so you get yours after me!

I'll keep checking. Interestingly bestbuy.com has a "release date" for several of the cards set at the end of October.

Sounds about right. I really like to just wait at this point and pick up one that has a wb on it.
I prefer evga but might have to settle for a MSI or other brand.
