Haha, I feel ya man. I had a buddy tell me to let him know what I think of it when I get mine (shipped mine this week from Korea so using a 970 for a few weeks). Coming from a 2080 Super on a 1080p monitor ... I told him I already knew what I think... I won't see a dang difference! haha. but for $65 I'm set for a while and in the market now for a respectable 1440p monitor. Too many options, I wish there were only like 5 to pick from.

Anyone have great options please send them my way, I want a 32in at 144+hz, gsync preferred.

Check this thread. I've been reading up there to see what I might want to upgrade to.  I currently have a 1080P monitor and really need to upgrade.

If the system specs in your signature are current, won't make much difference what monitor you get, the i7-6700k will be bottlenecked.

Sadly, no. It says so in the step up FAQ, but I still called and asked. They confirmed that the only way is to cancel your step up and start over again at the bottom of the queue.

The STEP 5 email from EVGA this week includes the following:
"EVGA will ship your Step-Up within 1-3 Business Days of receiving your original product to the following address based on your account information. If the address below is not correct, or if you need to update it for any reason, you can change the address on your profile and it will automatically update in our system.
This must be done BEFORE your original product is received for the change to take effect for this Step-Up"

Edited: you were talking about shipping method. sorry.

It does. Which is why I ended up calling. But that line only applies to a true RMA.

EDIT: Heh, just realized that you were talking about shipping address after you realized he was talking about shipping speed. But there was a (very deceitful and personally scarring) line from the RMA attachment on the step 5 email that, because I clearly didn't read your line, I thought you were quoting: "RMA Replacements ship via ground shipping. Upgraded shipping may be purchased after your RMA is approved, but before your product or collateral is received. You may upgrade your shipping by going to the My Products page (found here)." That line, sadly, only applies to true RMAs.

Oh I know.  I'm building a new system around the 3080. My 1080P monitor is 60hz I believe, maybe 120, but I've honestly never looked much into that as the monitors were mainly for work first, then gaming.  I didn't have the mindset at the time to look at gaming first then work (we're talking like 8 years ago at this point).

Just dropped mine off at FedEx, was $57 for ground.

Out of curiosity, how much of that total cost was insurance? And did you also add signature required?

Thanks!

I know you didn't ask me but...  The card I'm shipping back was on sale for $799.99.  So I insured it for $800 and that cost an extra $11.99 where I shipped.

I insured for $760, but not sure how much that increased cost by honestly as my receipt doesn't have a breakout. I can say that total shipping costs were $41 plus $11 for packaging. With tax, came out to about $57.

And that itself is interesting. I have a 3770k running at 4.5ghz with a 2070 Super. A game like Death Stranding shows the typical cpu bottleneck of gpu around 60% and cpu almost 90%. Then I tested the game Control which shows the opposite of around 30% cpu with over 98% gpu.

I upgraded from a 980 ti to the 2070 knowing I was probably on the edge of bottlenecking. I plan to upgrade soon anyways. So it seems there are new games which can still greatly use your gpu even with a 10yr old cpu, but you will also have your obvious cpu bottlenecking games.

From a rumor mill....take with this with a grain of salt but the market will be flooded with 3080 by the end of the month or beginning of November
I just saw something along these lines, as well. Source is very reputable, IMO.
