So I got a 3090 Kingpin, it failed within 48 hours, sent it back to EVGA and they just got it yesterday.  Should I call them up and tell them to keep it, then get in queue for the 3090 Ti KP?

Might be a long wait.  Even Nvidia hasn't released a drop date for the 3090 Ti.  And those images are just renders.  So maybe a few months?  So if you can wait a few months, and EVGA can turn your RMA into a return.  Then sure.  And who knows what the queue will be like.  Would be hard to tell where your place in line would be with Queue 3.0

Yeah seems like a pretty tough call given the complete lack of solid information - I'd rather have a $2200 3090 KP at the end of next week than a $3000 3090 Ti KP in March or May.  Though I already have a good card.

Rumour  was 3090Ti kingpin would be released in March, for a little more than current version. I got the notification for the 3090 Kingpin a couple of weeks ago and decided to pass. Even before the 3090Ti  announcement, it seemed odd how EVGA was rapidly clearing the KP queue. After waiting 8 months, it seemed pointless getting something that's practically obsolete. Then again if the 3090Ti KP queue is an 8 month wait, it might be better to just wait for the 40xx KP.

Yeah I wonder how our social credit score will work for the KP?

Looking at this comparison of both Kingpins, don't think the current blocks will fit.

Makes sense.  But nothing a Dremel and time won't fix ;)

But I hope EVGA is a little more on top of the HC development for this one, 3090 lagged a few months.  No chips in a waterblock...

4000 series rumored for October 2022 (source), if there's a few months lag, the 3090TiHC might only come out ~4 months prior to 4000 series. At that stage it might be better to just wait for 4000 - particularly if you're planning on an aftermarket block from Optimus.. hell, by the time that came out (if they even make one), 5000 series will possibly be on the near horizon! lol.

If I die first, please tell my estate executor to wait for the 80xx kingpin TI in April of 2042. Must future proof.

Am I the only one who thinks the 3090 Ti kingpin will be closer to $2500 than $3000? It's not like there is a big market for a $3K msrp gpu. Let alone 8-9 months before the GPU market has cards that ship w 3x the performance of the current flagships
