Today I too started getting grating noise from PCH fan on motherboard that has been in use for less than few months. This is VERY upsetting as part is not designed to be serviceable without completely tearing whole system apart. That to me is extremely poor design.

Can anyone confirm if the above link to the fan on ebay is the correct size? I may get it just to have a back up since the fan seems so unreliable.

Part number on eBay fan is exactly same one as on fan that is on my X299 Dark.

So my x299 Dark Mother board fan has been really loud lately for the past couple months, I found a fix, I taped a toothpick next to the fan, the end of the toothpick lightly brushes against the center of the fan somehow cancelling the noise, it's as quiet as it was for the 6 or so years I had it.
