I enjoy it sometimes myself, and @wdflyer, I'm not necessarily a fan of that, just a big fan of when a person who's done nothing wrong gets hacked, loses all his stuff, and then it gets fully recovered thanks to awesome people.  Now I just hope that lame hacker gets what he deserves in a hardened case full of sharp nails and razors. 

I don't exactly spend time watchin' a kid give cat tips on youtube, not that there is anything wrong with that, but isn't he one of the guys who was in the previously posted/removed links?

Did they give him his account back, or did he get assistance from somewhere, I thought the hackers gave it back to him because he made that video about, well, you remember...

I'm confused as well.  I didn't see any of those vids before they got cut out of the post, so if his was one of em, I don't know about it.

My hunch is that in this case there wasn't any agreeing to comply with any blackmailing...more of the hacker was contacted by NCIX attorneys and now he thinks somehow he can dodge what he did by making it like nothing happened.
NCIX lost thousands in potential income while it was down so I'm guessing this person has a felony or two heading his way.

Actually, on this part, according to NCIX via their Facebook page, they didn't really lose much at all do to their re-assuring customers that the only thing hacked was the Youtube page and was not connected in any way to their site and the customer data.  They've pretty much been carrying on like it didn't even happen, after they made that announcement.

It could make it a lot easier to expalin what I was talking about.
 

I was referring to whoever got the account back up and running, whether it was Google or NCIX, someone had to do something right and it certainly wasn't the hacker himself.

 
 
I thought you had info on how he actually got his account back.

Yeah I saw this too the guy who hacked him is a [generally unreputable person;] he makes scrips then makes the account owner read it and post it on youtube or make them pay him money to get there account back. watch.

Edit by Jedi: Those videos were nowhere close to the TOS based on the amount of swearing and other appropriate content.

 
If this is one of the videos that was posted here and then removed like I believe it was, he got his account back by reading the hackers script and then posting it on youtube.
 
It contained some pretty, uhmm, lets just say, inappropriate, explicit, and embarrassing things for anyone to have to say about themselves.

While the mentioning of said videos was there in that post, nothing was confirmed about Linus having done one of them.  I haven't seen anything of that sort.

I didn't know one person from the other in those, but IIRC, the first one was linus, but like I said, didn't know who was really who.   Can't say I am really all that worried about it either.
 
Just thought it amusing that you stated he got it back due to some help from some awesome people because I was under the impression he had embarrased himself to get it back...that's why I aksed if you knew who helped him or how he actually got it back or not.
