Surprised some of you haven't tried the strix 890w vbios.

Haha I'm too scared to brick the card. It's only been a few days of ownership. I'll wait to others do it first. :-)

You have multiple bios switch positions to play with. Really have to screw up bad to brick the card. (like brick all 3 positions, but a 2nd gpu (or onboard graphics) would still allow recovery most likely).

i don't see a benefit to flashing the strix bios when i'm still limited by stock cooler, even before you have evga's oc team explicitly saying DO NOT flash the strix bios to the kingpin. not worried about bricking anything, but i'll take the word of a top overclocker with direct access to the design and bios teams over a small chance i can hit over 600w. especially seeing temps hitting 60C

i'm sure the xoc bios will arrive soon, and based on what i'm seeing just with classified tool, it makes more sense why cens said the xoc bios isn't really needed. LN2 bios with voltage control seems to do just fine. i wonder what the actual limit is? it's definitely not 520w

Are you seeing power limit under perfcap when using the classified tool?

That's wild. I'm going to pull out the classified tool then and see if it somehow turns off the power limit.

So I didn't use an AC unit. Room temps were 19C. I did however replace the stock fans on the AIO for noctua industrials and also put then on their own fan controller connected to my mobo. The px1 tool slider didnt allow me to spin them very fast. I replaced the stock thermal paste with some KPX. All in all it dropped my load temps about 4-5C vs stock.

dailying the hybrid? that's a lot of work to put the stock cooler back on

when i take the cooler off, it's going cold. i wonder if adding 3 fans on the rad will really matter? i bet you gained more from the kpx than the fans tbh

No not dailying hybrid yet. Just don't have time to go get any LN2 and I like to push things as far with stock cooling as possible first. Was really easy tbh. Took me maybe 30 minutes to swap it all out. And 27 of that was disassembling and reassembling the aio.

I did flash the asus xoc bios. However the classified tool won't function when using it.

Made a few more passes this AM before work after flashing ASUS Xoc bios. My card needs more power. Unfortunately using asus xoc bios means the classified tool won't work. But I still gained a bit of performance thanks to the higher power limit. Card hit peaks of 540w in port royal and sustained runs of 625w+ on timespy extreme. All while still at stock voltage.

16188 on Port Royal
+120/+1425 offsets for core and mem respectively.

Timespy 24019. I need to switch back to my KS and really push the CPU score higher. But over 24000 on GPU score is strong!
+105/+1300 offsets (didn't try going higher with memory yet as had to leave for work) https://www.3dmark.com/spy/29430358.

Definitely try flashing xoc bios while we wait for the evga one with voltage control. If your card is like mine it's absolutely choking on the 516w power limit.

it would be nice to see what the 3090 ti cards are capable of in the 3DMark ray tracing benchmark.
