Well it stopped my GPU fan from getting past around 30% tell I updated the up date . Crashed the card 2 times before I figured out what was going on , this is just a heads up on the update . My bios are up to date so . Could be just MSI motherboards but the update of the update fixed it .The second update bricked my keyboard or its time was up not sure witch .

W 11 updates either work or trash your Rig.  Thanks for the update
 
I know one guy that got so angry with W 11 messing with his new W11 laptop, he said he is going to the dark side & buying an Apply MacBook Pro.

Is 11 really that bad? I just bought a few OEM keys and was going to go ahead and install them. Just stinks cause I think 10 is good enough. What ever happened to “win10 will be the last”

My source has a new laptop with factory installed W11, works remote & depends on the ability to be in meetings remotely  (some key excerpts below)
 
 
 
- These are out of the box problems… PC came with Win 11 installed.  I research the issues, there are many consumers screaming, the fixes usually do not work… it’s hard to test when you can’t on demand recreate the issue.  But spending an hour every other  week trying to get the PC thru a slow down/crash is too much.  By the time I get the task manager open, I am out of patience.  And it’s never obvious; there is no smoking gun.
 
- It took about an hour to get my computer running clean this morning.  “Configuring security settings”
 
- The other issue I hit all the time is the file manager popping open/creating a new screen and stealing the PC’s attention.  This is especially annoying when in meetings.  Sometimes it takes minutes, sometimes hours, but it is… inevitable. Ah those cunning Microsloth programmers.  A lot of people have this issue.
 
- The patch they were forcing that caused massive computer issues?  Yeah, I BSODed on that one.  I shut off updates for a week.  Dipsticks knew they were hosing PCs worldwide, and still kept forcing the patch; KB5043145, back in October.
 
- Windows 7 was solid.  Win 8 was a pig. Win 10 was a pig with lipstick.  Win 11 is 10 lbs of manure stuffed into a 5 lb bag.  Enough.  MS will still be in business, and make $$.  Just not my $$. I don’t do stupid, and Microsoft is the problem, not the solution.


(I will  try the disable search indexing, disabling OneDrive.  Neither is desirable.)

- OneDrive is one of the worst implementations of MS. I spent hours on the phone with the tier 3 tech repair debugging my system on  different locations. The techs always successfully guided me to a successful conclusion… but both were in the 3 or 4 hour range.  We did the same steps repeatedly, with small variations or variations in order until the system synched properly.  Both sessions were prompted by frustrating file losses/denials.  Lol, on the 1st occasion, I had to drive an hour back to work, place the file on a thumb drive, and drive back home to continue work on my home PC.  So no, I no longer use OneDrive under any circumstances.  Stupid implementation.  If you need the cloud to store files, google or Box are both better solutions.
 
- No, I don’t care if MS finally “fixes” it.  They are out, permanently.  I have better things to do in life.  Watch paint dry.  Monitor prices on Amazon…. Things of that nature.
 
 

Put it this way I spent 6 hours all together with microsofts techs to fix keyboard not working . First tech got it working ,it worked tell I changed usb ports . So comes round 2 with there techs . How it was fixed was reinstall win11 keeping my settings and programs . Win11 over all works for the most part , copy paste kind of not working right  . Update Windows 11, version 24H2 broke it big time GPU fan stuck at like 30% tell updates update , killed usb ports for my keyboard but other usb keyboards worked fine there was one more thing the update broke but can not remember what it was  . At this point I would dump win11 for win7 in a heart beat if my computer would run on it right and I could fully update it . Bill 1024 here is the problem of not updating to win11 ,  Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025.
 The end of support thing is only reason to ever leave Win7 .

Bad engineering, bad testing, bad AI ..... BAD Management  ....
 
the cause is all of the above IMO
 
But, but Windows 11 is better .... because we say so!
 
 

One other thing to add  if you have a intel CPU with p-cores and E-cores . Intel® Thread Director and win11 do not play nice with Boinc Manager or a lot of programs . If you down size it to task bar or hidden icon 9 out of 10 times it will send your bonic work to E-cores and that is a big down clock . Like right now I got 3 genefer21 running on 12 P-cores That uses about 60% of my CPU . But if I send boinc to task bar it drops to 20% of cpu use . . There is a work around run boinc as Admin . Now if you are running Win 10 there is no Intel® Thread Director or I think there is non . Its win 11 and intel 12th gen and newer as far as I could find .

I just upgraded from x99 avx2 to x299 avx512 i9-7960x CPU. I think that's the last MB CPU upgrades for me.
May get a new RTX5070Ti or 5080 GPU when they come out, will see how they are priced.
But still win10 will run out of support end of year or so, still will work. Linux is an option I do run one box Linux all the time
Really hoped win11 would be a really good upgrade not the disaster it looks to be. I will try it after the holidays since I do have a couple boxes saying it is ready to DL and install for free. 
Poor MS, good help is so hard to find.

bill1024 I went with the Z690 MB with a 12th gen I7 CPU . If I win the lottery I can jump to a new 14th gen CPU . As bad as the bugs are on Win11 and the time it takes to get use to all the changes where they put stuff . And the stuff they try to push on you to buy and use . It is getting better and with you only upgrading to a x299 MB you can stay with Win 10 . LGA 1700 and newer intel CPU's need Win 11 for the E-cores to work with Intel® Thread Director . Think of it this way all the new stuff you will learn with Win11 trying to fix it HAHA . I can not wait for next update to fix this years big update think there has been 2 or 3 so far . I did not leave win 7 tell this year spent a week or two on win 10 then did win 11 . Still got a full copy of win 7 on a back up HD only thing is will not run 12 gen intel CPU's on top of about half the motherboard .
