hey guys I just bought 3070ti gladly after months of struggle, anyway today I tried playing first heavy graphics game which is Hitman2
I maxed out all the video setting and I got very decent frames but the problem is the GPU is insanely LOUD
I mean I know i am giving it heavy duty but is it suppose to be this LOUD? also the temperature got to 80c maximum idk if thats okay or not.
Temperature : 80c
Clock: 1860MHz
GPU Fans : 2513RPM

GPU : Gigabyte 3070ti gaming oc
Case : NZXT H510i Elite

Does not sound to off for the H500 series of nzxt cases what are your ambient temps like . they don't have the most amazing airflow designs. I would suggest to looking into undervolting you can probably set a voltage curve pretty low and maintain 1850mhz-1900mhz and reduce the temps a good bit . depending on your gpu silicon lottery you could probably make a falte voltage curve of 1850mhz at 875mv. which would reduce your temps and fan noise decently

Sounds like either an airflow issue or an ambient room temp issue.

Mine goes upto 76C in GPU intensive games but I wouldnt call it "insanely loud", I tried running Furmark and it has trouble even going above 71C in it. The fan also isnt really audible until the Temps get into the mid 70s and even then its not really loud. 3070 Ti are meant to run hot because of the GDDR6X Memory but if it gets too loud then it could be a problem with the card.

in this user's case he has a case known for not the greatest air flow so I'm betting that is the issue. Fur mark is no good anymore for stress testing as nvidia power throttles when it detects it. Super postion at 4k or 8k pass gets about as warm as I can find

Have you setup a custom fan curve on Afterburner of Precision 1? I've got a couple of custom curves I use depending on what I'm doing...

Are you overclocking i.e. "MSI Afterburner"? There is nothing wrong with doing this as long as you don't change the fan from auto. Your temps seem OK. What model is it? I have a 3070 running Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 that pushes the card to 100% and it is not loud. Fans never go over 50-60%

Just going to add that your post had me curious and I ran Port Royal for the first time on my 3070Ti FTW3 today. Scored 8,822 which isn't much but the GPU didn't cross 72°C during the run and the fan was barely audible. So something could be wrong at your end.

Also, I just noticed that OP is using a Gigabyte 3070Ti which is kinda odd on the EVGA forums. Not trying to be a jerk, just wondering why you posted here instead of the other actual hardware forums...

I did not notice that it is a Gigabyte card. That is why I ask what model it was. My EVGA 3070 runs cool n quiet.

The Gigabyte card ships with the bios switch on OC. You can flip the switch to silent.
Your card may thermal throttle but RTX 3070 TI is plenty for Hitman 2.

Thank you all for your responses!
Re: my GPU is completely stock i didn't mess with any extra overclocking since it's already overclocked from the manufacture.
I really think the case is big part of the problem here and I was aware of it bad airflow rate but didn't take it too seriously, Now I have some solutions in mind but idk what would be the best one. most option that i am thinking of is custom water cooling though I am not so sure how much it will cost and how efficient it would be.
Also I am sorry if it was a problem posting about gigabyte gpu in evga forum I don't use forums often and I was already registered here and got help before so it was my first thought to post here.

The switch is on the card close to the PCI-E cables and will say OC/Silent. Power off, flip the switch and then restart to test your noise levels.

I'd deftinely suggest doing a undervolt on msi after burner. Flipping the bios switch to silent may help the fans spin slower but then the card will just end up warmer and probably clock down even more.

What undervolt, what power throttle in furmark. So much false information in this thread.

To me this seems more like some airflow issue also.

cards used to literally cook in fur mark its been a few years but the driver literally detects fur mark these days it's how fur mark once known as the power virus can have lower temps then a heavy 4k bench mark like super postion. And I am not saying he's running a undevolt if that's what you got from reading. I am saying he should run an undervolt to help control the temps in the less then ideal situation for air flow since you can't really improve airflow in his case other then getting a whole new case

Teach me how to run an undervolt on a 3070. The sliders literally do nothing. and furmark still makes my gpu run the hottest.

My 3070 Ti XC3 Ultra runs 78C when playing COD Black Ops Cold War at 4K max settings without ray tracing and the fans get noisy as well:

I've been thinking about looking into undervolting too. But yeah OP, these cards just produce a lot of heat.

These cards need room to breathe/good airflow I think (hope) most people understand that.  Especially the back of the cards as they produce a ton of heat so if they can't breathe they will run warmer than they should.  If there is a big CPU heat sink right above the card expect high temps.

This is not the first thread I've read where the noise level of the 3070ti has been questioned. I'd be interested to know where these cards are bing used -is this really a card issue or are people cramming these things into SFF boxes?

My 3070 Ti was used in a huge Caselabs Merlin SM8 case.
