I went with this card because the VRMs and cooling is so over built that i wouldn't run into power or thermal limitations like i would with a FE card. A founders card can only go so far with its VRM.

When the FTW just won't do it..... we need the Classified (and KPE) to show the FTW how it's done :D

I am surprised after 4 years of posts just like this, where the cards dont exceed the reference/founders cards, people still believe this.

All cards have the same limitations, unless you are using a custom bios and a better cooling. With yours not performing like it should at stock, I suggest RMA and stop fighting with it. You'll probably just get more and more frustrated until the RMA is complete. Sorry to hear that the silicon lottery didn't go in your favor.

And that's the reality with everything people get, it's a gamble/lottery. some people get that Golden Gpu, and other get the normal SC version . We sure as hell don't need another Classified version here. Hell we already have a huge backlash from some Classy owners already.

More FTW3 issues.

I'm a little worried tbh.  The only other card having massive issues is Gigabytes Aorus.  I hope this isn't the start of a trend?  Watching forums closely.

I'm getting ready to get my third 1080Ti FTW3. Whenever the card is under "load" it crashes. All I'm doing is playing FFXIV in 4k max setting while game streaming on YouTube. I've tested and used a ASUS 780Ti, EVGA 1080 x2 in SLI, EVGA 980Ti, EVGA 1050Ti in my system and I've had no issues at all, besides maybe turning the graphic settings down some in my game from max to standard for FPS or tearing. When talking with EVGA they say the 1080Ti is stressing my system out and causing my other components to malfunction....though when my screens go black and I stop receiving inputs from the GPU, I can unplug and plug my monitors back into the GPU and the screens go back to normal, but the sound reverts back to the monitors instead of my headset. I also have to reboot the system because it will continually crash. Again, I've tested 5 other GPUs in the system with no issues from them. EVGA said they will be stress testing the new card before it is sent out. The only thing I'm being told is that the 1080Ti FTW3 is basically too powerful for the rest of my components to run correctly. Here is my set up: ASUS Mark1 Z270 mobo, i7-7700k cpu, Hyper Fury 2400MHz 16GB (4x4) ram, Corsair AX1200i psu, Samsung pro 250GB SSD for Windows 10 Pro.

Yeah honestly I did a lot of research on cards before I got one and most people suggested the ftw3 not just for base boost clock but because everyone I saw oc it got at least 2025 core oc so I got one and mine will hardly reach 2000 core I realize there is silicone lottery but dam this is frustrating

I don't think so. There is no way that you got two bad cards in a row with the same issue. I am sure that your third will have the same issue because it probably won't be the card.

Yup that's about the norm for 1080Ti chips, very few of them seem able to hit ~2050-2100Mhz+!!    I've had 3 different 1080 Ti cards now and they all seem to hit a limit around 1987-2025Mhz depending on the silicon lottery.   Some are better and some are worse!

Asus Rog Strix 1080Ti OC - Max stable ~2000Mhz, card only lasted 3-4 months and eventually started to artifact at the stock clocks.   RMA'd and sold the refurb to buy an EVGA card.
EVGA GTX 1080Ti SC - Max stable ~2012Mhz, any higher was met with instability but no artifacts.  Eventually the memory started to fail and was getting texture artifacts.
EVGA GTX 1080Ti SC2 - Max stable ~2000Mhz, I did notice if utilization is low I can push it up to ~2080-ish.  But at 80-99% gpu load I really can't push much beyond 2000Mhz.

All of these 1080Ti cards that are factory overclocked seem to have already pushed the limit..    To really push much beyond 2Ghz I think you really need a card that has more power capabilities and also significantly better cooling or on H2O.

Just received a 1080Ti Hybrid FTW3 from EVGA and wanted to report that the card was able to do 2100 on the core in Superposition with no issues so far... Using the slave OC bios.

Will do some more testing in BF1.

My older EVGA 1080 TI FE hybrid would only manage 2025 and sometimes 2050 So I am am really enjoying the FTW3..

It's FREEKING HUGE but I was able to squeeze it in!
