Not 100% sure if it's related to this issue, nor do we know if you were the original owner of this card, since you didn't mention.
When this GPU was first released (was later corrected), there was an issue regarding heat & EVGA provided three options. The first was a BIOS release, which I flashed to & have had no heat issues. Second & was customer's choice, EVGA would mail a replacement set of pads, or if uncomfortable doing it, would cross swap the card. The below link is in regards to replacing the thermal pads. Still have mine in the box the card shipped in, being the BIOS 'fixed' any issue, seen or not. (am not a gamer, rather video enthusiast). May run a benchmark once in a while, most of the time watch a lot of 4K video, have tried 8K, which it's supposed to be capable of at 60 Hz, yet stutters, even with the Displayport 1.4 update furnished by NVIDIA.
Anyway, here's the link to pad replacement. Never hurts to ask if you get the card going, if original owner, see if they'll ship a set out. No longer have the link to the BIOS update for the issue, am sure it's around here somewhere, or can ask for it.
EDIT: Couldn't post link, however there's a sticky to it in this section of forum, near the top of threads.
Good Luck with the repair!
