flyinion Hmmm, all the Monster talk made me decide to go down to the break room and try the regular green one today since I'm gonna need the kick when I get home anyway to detail my car this evening for an event tomorrow. Right off the bat I have to say the green is similar in taste to the absolutely zero I tried yesterday, but that one actually tasted sweeter, was thicker, and had a slight aftertaste. The green one does away with all of that. I found it interesting that a can of it has 30 fewer calories than a 16oz Mt. Dew as well which Mt. Dew is what I normally would get when I needed some kick but not energy drink level kick. Of course the only Mt. Dew in the new vending format in the break room is some new 24oz. bottle. Yep not the "standard" 20oz., but now they're up to 24 so the Monster only has about 2/3's the sugar and it's natural sugar not HFCS. Still not great of course (sugar type difference) but it's marginally better lol. Standard Monster can has TWO servings per container. Double that calorie count if you drink the whole thing. This is why I opt for the low carb version. When/if you get a chance, I highly suggest trying any of the "Nitrous" Monster products. Its carbonated with nitrogen, similar to Guinness beer.. and it has a MUCH smoother taste. Very similar to the Monster M3 thing I linked a few posts up.

BTW, if you are REALLY tired, you can always try a Monster B.F.C. I'll let you guess what B.F.C. stands for. BTW, that's a standard 16oz Monster on the left. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY4oJpVkppc

lol yeah I don't think I will ever need more than a 16oz can of one of those things. Oh and yeah I know there are 2 servings in the can, I accounted for that when I was giving the calorie comparisons. 2 servings = 200 cals for the monster to 230 for 16oz Mt. Dew. I can only assume the 24oz one must be around 330+. So yeah easily 1/3rd less in the Monster than what I would have gotten from the Mt. Dew. I would probably just get the Zero again though next time if I'm at work and have to choose between the two. Today was just to see what the green tasted like.

I know I keep saying this, but if they have the blue "low carb" version, give it a try. I find it to be a happy medium between the green can and the absolute zero.

Yeah I'll have to go find it at a store. I was just trying what was readily available in the break room vending area for now. Hmmm, I am going to the store, maybe I'll pick one up for the car club drive tomorrow

My fave is Venom, but I drink Monster Absolutely Zero only any more. Love all the zeros, and Venom tends to make me all jittery after a few sips, lol, which is the reason I've had many a restless couple of days in the past. Stuff's like liquid crack or something, but w/out the addictive capabilities, lol. And it tastes soooooooo good!

The Loca Mocha is nice to have chilled n shaken with a couple of donuts or something for breakfast, it really hits the spot sometimes. NEVER drink it w/out eating something tho, it'll definitely cause stomach issues, lol.

Hmmm, don't know if it was cause I just got up and had toothpaste residue leftover, or because I tried it on top of an apple turnover pastry, or just not in the mood. I tried the lo-carb Monster this morning and was not impressed. Seemed to have a lot of artificial sweetener aftertaste (maybe my taste was off though) and after a few sips the rest went down the drain. Based on this morning at least I thought the "Absolutely Zero" was way better. I'll try it again later in the day one more time just to be sure though.

Toothpaste will definitely do that, I've done the exact same thing, it almost turned me away from em altogether. That being said, the Ab Zero is definitely a MUCH better tasting one, as you stated, and a lot smoother too.

I've never understood the whole low calorie energy drink crap. If your going to drink an energy drink you should be doing something to burn calories. For me? Probably classic red bull. Haven't had one in forever. I don't drink them often.

Its not exactly a energy drink its a pre-work out drink, but it definitely works. I could be falling asleep at my desk, but taking this stuff 30 min before working out and I am wide awake and full of energy.
