Hi
I am adding a ekwb gpu block on my 1080ti sc2 and was wondering if I need to buy the extra back plate or if I can just put the existing back plate back on the card after the block is fitted.

the screws are a little larger (diameter) for the EK block's backplate mounting ... but it can be done, though you open up the original backplate's holes slightly

sorry not sure what you mean..... are you saying that I have to use a ekwb backplate and not just put the original plate which came with the card, back on?

You would use the Larger diameter EK screws ...... forcing (or drill) that larger screw through the Stock EVGA backplate's mounting holes ... "the EK screws will Not "fall through the mounting holes in the EVGA backplate"

The EVGA screws are too small ... for the threaded hole in the EK waterblock
