A) If you Click on the Type your product key OptionYou will be prompted to enter a valid product key number for that edition of Windows. If successful, it will activate Windows. (see screenshots below)
B) If you Click on the Ask me later OptionWindows will continue to startup into the user account that you logged into, but will still be in a unlicensed state until you activate Windows using step 7A at the next restart or manually activate while still in Windows.
JPSHRACER1486Thank you, @evilmustang66 with this helpful reminder to remove Windows 7/8 keys from a computer. However, remember you can still upgrade using Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10 for free according to How To Geek. It was verified again last month in September 2019. I will be attempting to upgrade a machine using this method soon.
