first, thanks to any and all replies. Here are my specs. This was originally a prebuilt ibuypower system. i7-3770k @ 3.5 ghz GTX 560 upgrading to GTX 760 ga-b75m-d3h gigabyte mobo corsair tx750 w/ 62 amps on the 12v rail blu ray optical drive 1 tb wd Everytime I attempt to boot the system with the 760 installed I get stuck at the bios screen for about a minute before it changes over to a black screen with a flashing cursor in the top left corner. Originally I thought this might be due to the ibuypower psu, which was only providing 22.5 amps on each 12v rail. However after replacing it with the tx750 I am still having the same problems. I did remove the drivers for the 560 prior to installation. I can boot with the integrated gfx and with the 560 just fine. When I boot with the integrated gfx, I can see the 760 in the device manager but it has a (!) sign next to it. I tried disabling the integrated gfx in the bios, and making my pci-e x16 slot the primary for gfx, but nothing seems to work. I also tried to reset the CMOS, but I haven't had a chance to see if this worked yet. If that doesn't work, I guess the next step is to flash the bios. I'm thinking that that mobo must be too old for the 760. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Do you have the Current Bios Firmware installed on your Motherboard?

Hello Anthony41988, I have just replied to your support ticket in regards to this issue. A previously mentioned it would be strongly recommended to check for a bios update for your motherboard which may help add better compatibility with the newer gen video cards. Ah another Gigabyte and 700 series card problem. Another user had a recent post as well on that. As the others mentioned, I highly suspect a mobo BIOs issue. If the BIOs update doesn't help, is there a UEFI or Legacy boot option? If so, make sure it is on Legacy or non-UEFI BIOs.

So I reset the Cmos and now I can't even get Windows to boot! I thought this was gonna be a simple install but I guess nothing ever is. I'm gonna look around and see what I can do to rectify this.

When you reset the BIOs the boot drive is probably wrong so you'll need to correct that manually in the BIOs

I set my blu ray drive as the first boot option, and my ssd as the second. My OS is installed on the ssd. I tried to reinstall windows but it freezes up.

So nothing I tried with the gigabyte mobo worked. I decided to go ahead and just replace my mobo altogether with an ASrock Z77 extreme 4 and everything works great. Card is running perfectly. I'm thinking the issues I was having was due to the fact that it was a prebuilt system. Thanks for all the responses.

When you can see the 760 in Device Manager with the (!) sign next to it, right click on it and then click on Properties..Is there a code or anything in the Device status area and what does it say?..What Windows are you using (XP, 7, 8.x)?

Read the message right above yours, that said the motherboard was the problem.

Hey Bob thanks for your response. I definitely should have done that before taking out the mobo.

Thanks for identifying that as a mobo problem. I had a feeling that is what it was going to be.
