Hi there, Could someone kindly point out how to remove the bottom plastic cover in order to put a CMOS battery to the board please? I removed all fasteners but still for the life of me could not figure out how to remove the plastic part. Thank you so much!

You not alone, I was wondering that also, in case I ever need to take out change CMOS battery, undoing the screws on the CLASSIFIED, it is still held on by bottom somehow, yea how to take it off without breaking it?? Not a silly question.

Does the motherboard come with the battery already installed? I just assumed I needed to put one in myself and also don't think my bios settings were being saved.

Hello CycleryMoron,.. Yes, your motherboard comes with the CMOS battery pre-installed. The battery will last generally about 8-years. Be vary careful if you decide to remove the plastic cover, use the correct size Phillip's bit in your screwdriver,.. looks like you need to remove the center Phillip's screw on back-side directly below stand-off hole first. These screws strip-out vary easy, so you need correct bit, you need to push down firmly while turning slowly. After removing the screw on back side, remove the two screws on front,.. and the cover will come off. https://imgur.com/VcGf8FW Your battery is located at the bottom, center of your board. See page 12 of your manual,.. item 24. https://imgur.com/9jf1Vl2

Well that sucks, , least I know those batteries do last a very long time. Good thing the reset CMOS works on back of I/O. Me thinks everyone should read the manual. Seems to be a lot of questions here that just reading the online manual would resolve. BTW I think it is the best manual for a MB, I personally have ever read.

what Braegnok said -- about it (CMOS battery) lasting Eight years is what i was told when i spoke on the phone with tech support. ahhh, so i also attempted -- very carefully -- after unboxing removing only the top screws and then called support about it and other stuff. and Braegnok's pics and explanation explain it is the two screws on the back that matter -- need removing to get to the CMOS battery? TY Braegnok! i purchased the 7 year extended warranty. Edit: removing the Heat-sync cover and securing the M.2 screws is awesome. (Saw it in a JayzTwoCents vid.) rather than having to ever search for the box they are always there when u eventually need them.

Thank you so much Braegnok and everyone else here! I didn't realize there was a screw at the backplate that needed to be removed... wish they could make all fasteners at the front for ease of access. You guys have been super helpful! Thank you and have a wonderful Sunday all :D
