Kind of?   My last save was right before I flip a lever and trigger the ending and slideshow credits of the game.    The game offers to put you back on the ship before the final world/quest, but it looks like it totally transfers over your characters stats/xp/items etc from your latest save and puts you back on the ship so you can do the DLC.
 
I think previously you had to load an old game before you started the final game quest, which would lose you several hours of progress.

    somehow the game didn't catch me properly, does it get better in mid game ?

    I would have to honestly say not really.  It pretty stays the same all through, nothing really majorly compelling.   It's basically a New Vegas lite without the epic parts that made New Vegas great.

    I played Outer Worlds but never tried the DLC, is it worth it? Outer Worlds was fine but nothing amazing

    Nothing new. More of the same.  I have only gotten about 1/4th into the first DLC story and I'm not really that compelled at all.

    Outer World actually impressed me. Great voice acting and presentation. Combat is ok, but made better with the rpg system. Reminds me of Baldur's Gate and similar games.

    im not sure about the game, its not bad, it all looks cool, but it felt a lil repetitive. was just not as much fun as i wanted it to be.

    Only after completing it?




    It used to be that you had to do the DLC before you went on the final mission.  So if you finished the game you had to load to a savepoint before the final mission.   Meaning you'd lose all your progress.
     
    Now you can finish the game, and take whatever levels, skills and weapons with you to the DLC
